The second major bug is the radient dragon shout learning quests from the Greybeards. Essentially, Arngeir will send the player to Arcwind Point, and then your screwed. Why? Cuz if you already learned the shout from that location, it is IMPOSSIBLE to complete the quest. This also makes it impossible to get any more radient dragon shout quests from Arngeir, though you can still get it from the Courier, but when and where he shows up is really unpredictable. Just shout in any Hold and eventually, he'll find you. Eventually can be hours at a time (real time). Ugh. So wait til you get the quest before going to Arcwind Point, right? Nope, too bad. According to everyone all over the internet, you'll learn the word, but the quest won't clear. Screws you over with the same result. So what do you do? Reload the save, right? Too damn bad again, cuz I guarantee you'll get Arcwind Point every time. Why? Cuz I tried it. EVERY SINGLE TIME. The radiant quests must be queud up well before you even walk into High Hrothgar because I even tried saving before entering the building, in case it generated the quest when you walk in the door, like some quests do. Still no luck.
So far, no official work around has been found for that bug.
The official work around for the Drain Vitality duplication bug is as follows:
1. Find a save in which you have NOT started the Dawnguard questline
2. Delete Dawnguard, then load that save
3. Learn all three words of Marked for Death
4. Reinstall Dawnguard
However, I have a level 81 Dark Elf Assassin and I want to try a possible fix. However, I don't want to screw up my savegame. As I'm sure a lot of people discovered when the resistance breaking MAJOR bug associated with the 1.2 patch came around, deleting the patch til Bethesda released 1.3 was a no go as you'd get that damn "This savegame is associated with a later version of Skyrim. Please update to the latest version and try again" message. Does this also apply with DLC?
What I want to do is this:
1. Uninstall Dawnguard to get rid of the extra Drain Vitality shouts that are bugged and cluttering my shout menu
2. Complete all the radiant Dragon Shout quests so I can master the Thu'um like I want to
3. re-learn Drain Vitality WITHOUT inheriting two to three bugged "drain vitality" shouts. I'll have just one, thank you very much
Bam, thats my goal. But if I uninstall Dawnguard, is it going to let me load the save? Will it glitch Drain Vitality again anyway, even if I relearn it? I'm not uninstalling this DLC and losing a ton of cool artifacts and stuff without knowing for damn sure. As we've all learned in passed Beth games like Oblivion and Fallout, DLC and patch uninstallation can really F#CK up your save game! Even corrupt it
