Is it possible to make a game like Skyrim with social features if the company would build a new engine from scratch?
Or would having more then 1 player in a game like Skyrim just lag\crash alot? Because I don't know about a single RPG game that has multiplayer where you could play the full game without anything removed in the "online" play. And there is no games where you can lift things up, throw them around that has multiplayer that I know of either.

So that leaves me this question, is technically possible at all for any future TES game to have social features (multiplayer \ co-op)?

I would definitely welcome co-op of some sort, but I think the reason why it's not included is because all of the hundreds of quests, dialog, and actions taken are based around the single player character. I'd expect the work that would have to go into making those things available and believeable to at least two players would be a huge task. The only way I would see it working realistically is if there weren't any quests, just exploration. But who knows, I'm not an expert.
