:starwars: like if u could go one on one in an arena whith people that have a similar level as you would be great in my eyes. the only thing is people could use mods for the pc. what are you guys's thoughts on this.

Could work, but its probably not high on Bethesda's list of priorities. They teased us with the Arena in Oblivion, so who knows?

I think Todd Howard said before that they do single player games. So I don't think it is going to work out bud and plus your idea scares me and all hardcoe TES fans.

I wouldn't mind seeing co-op, as long as it's limited to two players.

Someone joins your world and you both do whatever you want. No single screen (like Fable 2) but more like GTA, where you can go separate ways but still be in the same world.

EDIT: Oh, you're talking about an Arena mode, sorry. I'd like a competitive arena where you can battle others online, it could work if you were required to create a separate character for online (to prevent cheating), you battle people the same rank, if you win you gain xp and gold. You use gold to buy better equipment. I'm not gonna go into detail, I'm sure you get the idea. :)

Don't waste time or resources on coop/multi. There are plenty of other crap games for that you can get your fix with.

Actually for JUST IN THE ARENA, that'd be pretty cool.

Yea, I don't see the problem if it is just for the Arena. I would rather them spend the time and resources elsewhere like making cooler quests and dungeons though.

it would obiously take up time and rescource but, i think if they kept it simple but solid it could work without using to much time and rescources.

No coop, multiplayer or matchmaking in TES!! The series has delivered us the best singleplayer experience so far for 15 years... lets not ruin it!

Nah it's not gonna happen.

For one, BGS only makes single player experiences and nothing else. They take great pride in delivering the best quality single player experience they can, and multiplayer would only get in the way.
Secondly, the new engine probably wouldn't even support such a system anyway, as it has never been a focus in TES.
Third, ZeniMax Online was created specifically to create online games (they have access to Bethesda's IPs). More importantly MMORPGs, and rumor has it still their one in development is TES MMO.

My own personal opinion on it (I have been saying this since Oblivion launched) is that arena deathmatch and two player co-op would have been great. But alas, that is something BGS will not and never do. It's not really a bad deal either, considering I would hold the single player experience as more important anyways. I'm more excited for actual improvements in Skyrim (combat/graphics/content) because of the new engine rather than any non-existent hope for multiplayer.

Online arena: everyone using reflect damage, 100% chameleon, and resist magicka

Sounds like a lot of fun.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

If they did it, then you probably couldn't bring in your own items, and what's the fun in that?

Exactly. The arena death match would probably be as exciting as player versus player in Two Worlds. Boy was that just embarrassing...

Meh, if I wanted any form of multiplayer I'd want co-op, but I'm certainly not holding my breath for it.

Ha ha the term "matchmaking" refers to setting people up on dates. I was confused for second there. I imagined a hardy Nord carrying a rose for a scarred dark elf :).

No multiplayer at all. Focus on single player and make a good game.

I would like it if they perhaps had some sort of equipment limit to equalise it and make sure it was a reasonable fair fight.

I've always had a strong stance against any kind of multiplayer in tes games, but this actually sounds like a great idea. It's mostly just a little side activity, and it wouldn't have an impact on our beloved single player experience. Of course it would have to be console exclusive because of PC mods. Although if they had it run separate from the main game on PC...
