Possible solution for dual wield hotkeying?

Hi,

I came around this little information from quarter to three forums:

http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showthread.php?p=2938050#post2938050

I found a way to bind items to my left hand and right hand when in favorites:

paste this in the "/favorites menu" of your controlmap.txt located in
"SkyrimDataInterfaceControlsPC"

LeftEquip 0xff ! 0,Left Attack/Block 0x0009 0 0 0 0x8
RightEquip 0xff !0,Right Attack/Block 0x000a 0 0 0 0x8

I found the user event of binding the lefthand and righthand in Magic or items left and right hand fix at http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=82 and combined it with the controlmap.txt of hardcoded key tweaks.

Haven't gotten to download that mod from skyrimnexus since it hasn't really resbonded to my since Skyrims launch.

Now I could google with "LeftEquip 0xff ! 0,Left Attack/Block 0x0009 0 0 0 0x8 " some other information from a pastebin dump.

controlmap.txt for 3rd favourites-hotkey - Pastebin.com
Sadly this pastebin doesn't exist anymore, but what's interesting is the mentioning of 3rd favourites hotkey.

Can someone explaing how to make this work? I'm playing bowyer thief that would like to do some.. dagger dual wielding.

Ok. Downloaded the bsa unpacker and extracted the controlmap.txt.

Seems the thing just adds some other binds to switch a item between left or right attacks. E.G. Equips your weapon.

On a sad note, there didn't seem to be any mentioning of binding the hotkeys.

odman this looked like a potential fix for an issue I'm having, but turns out its not. Maybe we're having the same problem.

Would really like to see a way of being able to bind a dual wield setup to a single hotkey. Or even bind my left handed weapon, say, to the 1 key, and my right handed weapon to the 2. Skyrim will remember setups, slightly, it seems. For example: When i have an iron axe and a dagger equipped with a hotkey set to my axe, then switch to a bow, and come back to the axe using the hotkey, my character will pull out both the axe and the dagger. Right on. The problem lies in switching to a spell. If I hit a hotkey set to a spell, both weapons go away, and out comes the spell. However, when i try to go back to the dual wield setup using my axe hot key, just the axe comes up and the spell remains. I would really like to be able to seamlessly switch between dagger/axe to spell/axe and back.

I'm unsure if this is a glitch or a design feature, but either way its a bummer.

This is the problem currently keeping me from dual-wield. I do hope there is a way to mod it. Either allow binding to the left hands, or allow 2 weapons to be bound to 1 hotkey.

Because of the Dual-wield bug, it pretty much makes me not want to dual-wield. I really love using spells, but I also like sneaking up on people and having to navigate menus is annoying. Probably one of the first things fixed with the CK release I bet..

I only played my first two hours last night but I was able to favorite two iron daggers for dual wielding. What is the issue you're running in to?

How do you favorite an item to be equipped specifically into the left hand? Unlike with spells, tapping the button twice doesn't put items into the offhand (second tap merely unequips it). Also, from the tests I've done, having say, Iron Dagger bound to 1 and having another Iron Dagger bound to 2, then pressing 1 and then 2 will simply unequip the first Iron Dagger and equip the second one into the right hand.
