Post-Patch problems

When Catalyst A.I. is enabled, the picture looks great, but I get the 100% CPU usage problem, which causes massive lag/stuttering. When I disable it, the game runs very smoothly, but the artifact rendering is absolutely horrendous. My screen is mostly black or brown squares; sometimes I can't even see doors or floor texture, things like that. I've tried seemingly every combination of Vsync, Triple Bufffering, Image Cache Size, Anti Aliasing, you name it. I'm running Rage on an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @2.20GHz with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics card. I'm pretty new to this whole thing, so if you need more details that I didn't include, let me know.

There's nothing to be done but to wait for ATI and id software to come up with the patches and driver updates needed. It should have been done before the game was released. But there you go, that's the world we live in today. Customer satisfaction apparently doesn't matter anymore. According to Carmack it's ATI and Nvidia's fault that his game doesn't run on our cards, and we should be grateful we've even got a PC version to not work on our systems because consoles it where the money is at.

Unfortunately you're in the same boat as the rest of us. You spent money in good faith on a product that was not fit for the purpose and hasn't been for many of us since release day.
