Why are we talking about muffins now? I think http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/15/preview-fallout-new-vegas/ points towards House being a Ghoul.

I just posted that link a little bit ago. Hasn't it been confirmed that he used cryogenics?

I think it'd be really neat if we could smuggle citzens of the slums into vegas. It would be a cool quest for the people againts house to give you a mission to deactivate the securitrons.

Yeah, I was thinking it possible for him being a ghoul too. But of course, there's the cryogenics experiment thinger :banghead:
There goes my inspiration!
But really, I think it's possible for ghouls being allowed on the Strip. But super muties, Nah. There kind of green. And greasy. And large. Very Large. Imagine then trying to get INTO the casino

It would make sense to only let Ghouls into your building if you were a Ghoul yourself and didn't want anybody to find out. Oh, and that also confirms that Ghouls are allowed into the Strip. Maybe Super Mutants will be allowed in too. They would make some pretty good bouncers.

Too bad that info is from the same site that incorrectly claimed that fast travel was out. Hard to think of them as a credible source.

Would be very hypocritical for them to let ghouls in while not letting trogs and super mutants.
Vegas is gonna be a "yay" and "boo" place for me.
Yay to all the quests and interesting people.
Boo to that I have no idea where to start or where to go, it's like a maze.
Always hate going to main cities in games, I just get panic trying to find a place to start searching.

right but dont you think Mr house might not want ghouls standing in front of his casinos? Not very welcoming

Racist.
I hope there are no ghouls or supermutants within the walls of the Strip. I am hoping Mr.House is very anti-mutant.

Also Racist.

Given that most people shoot ghouls on sight and crap themselves when they see a super mutant it would be best to keep them out. The way people act in Tenpenny Tower is how most people reacted to ghouls in the past Fallouts. Mr.House is also pre-war so I am hoping he sees mutations the same way as most others "shoot on sight."

Let me guess, you don't want no ghoul marrying your daughter, right? And you think they can't swim and are afraid of ghosts? You post-war people are all the same.
But on a less dumb note, did anyone get a Great Gatsby/ Segregation-y feeling off of the Tenpenny Tower mission? Will that facet of 1950's Americana still be in there? I hope so, even though Jew's were segregated from most communities back then, I still think that paint's a clearer picture of what life after the bombs drop will be like.

I'm relatively confident that Styles doesn't want ghouls in New Vegas proper because having a racist character would be interesting, not because he hates ghouls.

Hell Harold is a ghoul, no one who has played Fallout and Fallout 2 hates Harold. It's impossible.

Sure. Your just a closet ghoul hater, trying to stick up for your kin-folk.
But seriously, I agree, it would be interesting to have the same allusion to racism. It would turn House into a 3d character, giving him depth.

For one thing, I would want to see how the economy of Vegas works. In Fallout 2, New Reno supports itself by trading gold, tourism from NCR, and offering mercenaries services. So I would like to see how New Vegas managed to survive for so many years. Was it tourism? Where did the tourist some from? Does the city have some kind of industry to support itself? Why hasn't the city been overrun by the slavers at Caesar's Legion or annexed by the NCR? Does it have some kind of military advantage over everyone else?

I am hoping that these questions will be realistically answered in the game as the play explore New Vegas and the area around it.

Aren't we suppose to have a ghoul casino and ghoul stripper and ghoul... Escorts...?
I can understand some place in the strip being bigots but for them to not even be let in to the strip?
Nah, thought some previews and interviews and tid-bits and aslfnlfdasf?l confirmed that some ghouls will be in there.
Or maybe I'm just delusional cause of the... Never mind about that.

I hope there are quests to do related to the town life. In Oblivion and Fallout 3, there were so many stories that we did not get to be a part of. I would like to see more quests like the Wedding Quest in Rivet City. A quest where you can help someone, nor not. These don't have to to marked quests, some could be short and simple, some could be complicated.

throwing this out there: i believe i heard in one interview (can't remember which, just now) that each of the casinos were different. why couldn't they all be owned/backed by different groups? therefor, some could be racist, some not, some sleazier, some more family-friendly.

on top of this, am i the only one who wants to see an element of Little Reno here? say, the ability of the character to decide which casino prospers and which gets taken over by someone bigger and badder? it could be a deep, game-long process, rife with miniquests and intrigue...

Yep I love Harold :fallout: He's a Special FEV mutant but for a very long time before the fallout bible was made he was ghoul. I don't hate ghouls. I rarely kill them unless they are doing evil things.

Sure. Your just a closet ghoul hater, trying to stick up for your kin-folk.

I agree having "racism" in the game (I would call it speciesism) would turn House into a 3d character, giving him depth as well as other characters. I don't want any racism between humans but Ghouls and Super Mutants are pretty much a new species. Fallout has almost always shown smooth skins are speciesist against ghouls and super mutants. If there was a fallout game where every species lived in peace I would want to know why. I really don't want that because it would feel odd to me but I would not mind seeing places like Quincy where they live together but still have that element of dislike and mistrust.

Plus it would be interesing to have to sneak in a ghoul follower into The Strip kinda like Goris by that I mean find him a disguise.

I am looking forward to the Casinos and Clubs.

Same, I also want to see the Vault 21 hotel or at least I think it was Vault 21.
