Is FNV still going to have fore day respawn?

Red dead did it. You could make ghost towns.

They respawned after a while though. You couldn't empty out the world.

Respawns can be exploited easily. At the arlington library in F3 some Enclave guys would respawn about every time you went there. Unlimited plasma guns and Tesla armor right there.

:celebration:
well just because another game you can kill everything doesn't make it necessarily a good idea, fallout is a pretty aweosme game with lots of replay value and red dead redemption doesn't really have any replay value in my opinion, fallout is an RPG with lots of replay value and i want to be able to roam around killing these taking my time with quests etc and not have an empty map area at level 20.

Another reason to dislike respawns, IMO <_< .

That said, I can see why some people would like this. After all, you need other armors to repair your own, so for those who used Tesla Armor/Enclave armor/Hellfire armor and didn't want to rely on merchants (besides, I don 't think there's any merchant that can repair an item to top-notch condition anyway), an endless source of their armor of choice must've seemed godsent... With the repair kits in New Vegas, the situation changes though :D .

I don't care if we have respawns or not, someone just said somehing about no ghost towns and I was just pointing out you could in red dead. Also they wouldn't respawns if you killed everyone, even the animals. It would make it into an actual ghost town with spookiness and ghosts.

:cryvaultboy: you don't care? are you sure, so if you kill enemies in lets say 20 areas by level 5 or 10, you don't want any more enemies in those areas for the rest of the game? you want those areas totally empty? just when you start getting your skills higher, if fallout 3 didn't have any respanws at all, do you have any idea how desolate it would of been by level 10 or so??? you would be at level 15 or 20 with hardly any enemies to kill, so respanws are most definately gonna be in the game, they are in all bethesda rpg's so you're not thinking this out, if you kill all the enemies lets say in an entire half of the map by level 20, do you relaize with no respanws you won't have anything to kill in all thiose areas for the rest of the game, so i just don't think some people are thinking here and all bethesda RGP's have respawns and this one will also, other wise you would'nt have any new enemies to fight at high levels because huge portions of the map would of already been cleared.

imagine if there had been no respawns in FO3.
BoS guy: DC is overrun with mutants.
LW: Nah, I killed them all, get back to collecting stuff or whatever it is you do.

some people aren't thinking this out, how do you think oblivion would of been if you didn't have respwanws? or fallout 3?, so basically as the game moves along you would be in a more and more desolate map, is that really the point of the game?, to have fewer and fewer enemies to kill as you level up, so you're at level 25 with cool power armor or other cool gear and all these nice weapons but hardly anything left to kill?, so you're gonna be wandering around with hardly anything left, you might of forgot a few raiders lol, so i think the game will have respawns. maybe not in every area, some areas should respawn different types of enemies or maybe friendly people or things etc, but this idea of emptying out the map and not keeping it populated with life is kinda stupid and really only appeals to people who rush thru the game and don't finish most of the quests, you do have to travel by areas several times in FO3 and if no new enemies were around they game would be boring. maybe for someone who gets their fun by killing everytihng in the game world, but thats kinda a lame goal, i like having plenty of enemies on the map at level 25 or 30, i don't want there to be only 10 enemies left by level 30, thats stupid.

I think the problem with clearing out an area and then it never respawning or having friendlies turn up and settle it is that sooner or later those of us that like to spend a LONG time on one character would repopulate the entire wasteland with nice people. Which is unrealistic, [censored]s exist and there will always be more of them no matter how many you shoot. It would be nice if "some" places would randomly spawn good or bad guys temporarily and then you never really know what you're going to get but at some point if it spawns friendlies you have to spawn some bad guys to clear them out unless you're being all evil and doing that yourself.

That would of been a nice touch also.. little skirmishes between factions in certain areas.. So every time your back you don't really know who'd be in charge. I just found the re-spawn really annoying on paths that I seemed to traverse a lot since that's where I obviously saw it the most... "hey there's are those two mutants in the truck again." "Ones got a sledge hammer the others got a missile launcher."

If you CHOOOSE to make that the point of the game, then yeah.

to have fewer and fewer enemies to kill as you level up, so you're at level 25 with cool power armor or other cool gear and all these nice weapons but hardly anything left to kill?

And I'm telling you that you underestimate things. Look, aside from named NPCs, there's also numberous unnamed NPCs and various critters, so even if the game only spawened'em all at once, it'd still be by far enough for our XP needs. Besides, it's not like killing people are the only source of XP, as ypou seem to have forogtten. There's also doing quests - don't tell me that you only kill people for XP, never doing any quests? And then there's lockpicking and hacking, not to mention the miniquests of bringing various people stuff like scrap metal, books and so forth which rewards you with XP... I tell you, even if we went around killing everything or almost everything that moves, it'd still be plenty enough to satisfy any XP needs, I'd say.

I don't care if there are respawns or not. However Obsidian makes the game is what I'm going to play. I'm not that picky. Anyways FO3 seemed to not have leveled enemies, if they do like in borderlands then I would be on board, but if they are just all level 3 all the way through the game then I'd rather not have respawns.
I am thinking, I'm just not going to have a heartattack over a game that hasn't been released and like I said before, I was just telling someone that ghost towns have been down before and worked and just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I'm stupid.

(sorry if it doesn't make sense, it's only 6 am. my grammar doesn't quite work this early)

There should be enough areas where you don't need respawn. 200 map markers or something. If enemies respawn that just encourages players to keep going to the same areas and grind instead of exploring new ones.

:sadvaultboy:
have you ever played any elder scrolls games or fallout 3 ? those maps would of been left desolate half way through the game without respwans, in FO3 i have been all over the map by level 20 and it has 30 levels. even by level 15 i have been over most of the map area, maybe not every single location but i have been over a large area of the map and i have to go by areas 2 or 3 times for later quests or just finding other locations so i don't want there to be nothing to kill. i want new enemies as i level up, the point of the game isn't to kill every living thing on the map, the game world has to have a feel of there being a constant threat in certain areas, things that could kill your character.
