Seeing as how Australia gets New Vegas about 3 days after the US, I'll be checking out The Vault to see what the encounters are like before making any kind of decision.

Whats the point of taking WW if you spoil the encounters from The Vault <_< ? It wont be that wild wasteland if you don′t get aren′t surprises. :twirl:

And yes i will most probably take Wild Wasteland because i love the old Fallout humor.

Man, hard to know whether to use this on the first playthrough or not. I am interested in using this perk at some point, but I definitely would like something to compare it to first. My first playthrough may thus be a vanilla playthrough and on my successive run through the game I would use this feature.

I didn't play FO1 or 2 but i think that a bit of humor would allow the game to be more real....

Allow me to explain:
After the bombs had drop it would have been VERY serious but now that life has gotten into a routine of post bombing I think it would freshen the game up
If done right (IMO of course), the humor is some truly bizarre stuff that should only happen out in the wastes where its bloody strange, (and who knows what's
out there these days) ~and not just simply finding some skeleton locked in a walk in meat freezer with 85 plungers , and wondering WTH!?

monty python and the holy grail?
The last time that I beat Frank Horrigan, I lobbest harshly at him the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Holy_Hand_Grenade_of_Antioch.
(He was dismayed.)

I'm gonna save it for my second playthrough. First one will be a little more serious (hardcoe survival emphasis), and a chance to experience the base encounters without WW. That way my second playthrough will have more fresh content than just the faction choice differences.

No, because it's obvious, that this triat is intended for second and further playthroughs of the game.

Originally (meaning across the series), it was never a trait, it was just the world.

Yes, however there is a possibility, that the "world easter eggs" are present just like in FO1 and FO2 and "Wild Wasteland" makes the game just more ridicolous (but not in the original fallouts way), by adding wierd things, that aren't easter eggs in classic Fallout feel.

I think it will turn out soon, how Obsidian understood the idea of Wild Wasteland.

that's the general idea of Wild Wasteland. It's a trait because lots of people (like me) would rather not see that stuff. Kind-of like Bloody Mess - I thought it was pointless and made the game look silly, but lots of people (like my brother) absolutely can't play the game without it switched on. hmmm... anyway, whatever makes you happy!

I wouldn't mind the silliness if it's added in the right place and not randomly when it's not needed.I skipped through every dialog in FO3 and Oblivion.I might do the same in NV but I'll try to actually to read it.The special encounters interests me the most.

I rarely skip the dialog . i even find reading terminals a little interesting .

That's very true, and could be very unfortunate. :sadvaultboy:

(but I have a little faith that that won't be their idea of how it should be done ~I hope anyway.)

I will very likely be using it. Fallout hasn't taken itself too seriously from the get-go and these sort of wacky escapades are just the sort of thing I've come to expect from a romp through Fallout's wastelands. Unless something else really catches my eye, I will be be taking this trait.

So how silly were the first two on a scale of one to ten?

I'll use Wild Wasteland on my first half a dozen or so. I am a big fan of FO2 style humor. :fallout: Once I am satisfied I have seen all that is to be seen with the wild wasteland trait I'll pick another one.
