Xbox 360 HDD Install?

Post » Mon Jan 24, 2011 5:22 pm

But it is funny though. What is next? The PS 3 person can't wait the 10 minutes or so it takes to install the game? LOL. Reading too many posts today about waitng for New Vegas. :foodndrink:

:fallout:

Luckily most PS3 users will have given up impatience, thanks to MGS4 with it's 50 minute cutscenes and mandatory installs between levels lol. I know I have..

Alright, so it doesn't necessarily effect load times, it is just a good idea because it makes your xbox run smoother? I can live with that.

Installing to HDD should speed up loading time for just about any game, FNV included, since the HDD is faster than the DVD.

Excellent, thank you for the clarification.

Well, I've cleared out my HDD, ridding it of the old demoes, etc. I never play anymore and I've cleared my cache. I'm ready and waiting for F:NV!!

Same here :foodndrink: I have to wait till friday though :sadvaultboy:

well I have 1.1GB left on my HDD so I will have to do some deleting. I havent decided yet if I am just going to play the game tonight and install it later. I always install games that I am playing a lot to save my disc drive. Since I will have limited time tonight I may just do it tomorrow. I would definitely recommend installing the game though. My 360 would fry if I had that disc spinning for 200 hours.

First thing I do everytime I pick up a game. Install to HDD - grab the manual - sit on toilet - come back to an installed game ready to play.

I always install the game I'm playing.. I uninstall games I'm not playing.. It doesn't make much sense to have games you don't play installed.. Even if they are downloaded games you can re-download anything you've bought so it makes no sense to store it unless your actively playing it.

I just updated 2 months ago and have the xbox slim (black) with 250 gig hard drive. Since then I install all my games. It makes the games run with virtually no noise and never causes any dramas. I'm gonna install and read the comic book that comes with the collectors.

Ive been Worrying lately about how much stress I put on my box. This will be the first game I install on my HDD and will continue to do so with titles I play quite often. Also a bonus is the noise reduction. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I think the only exception to this, out of the entire X360 library, is Halo 3.

I got a 360 Elite for Christmas, and I still have 80 some odd gigs available. I'm going to install it to my 360. This'll be the first game I've ever done so with.
