Where are all the dungeons?

The whole game is a Dungeon. Just some areas don't try to kill you.

I particulary enjoyed the Dunwich building (which is a reference to The Dunwich Horror, a, you guessed it, horror novel and the Old Ones from the Cthulhu Mythos) because it was scary as HELL, with all the illusions, and a slight hint that there was something evil watching you all the time.

That was the best interior in the game in terms of atmosphere, I couldn't go in there if I was alone at home after dark, way too scary (which is a good thing!)

Also I will be monitoring that mod you were talking about, sounds great!

Definitely, NV could do with more buildings opened up and I look forward to that :)

The Dunwich Building was one of the greatest parts of FO3. I doubt the writers of New Vegas could ever come up with anything that good.

Dunwich Building FTW!
Creepiness in FO3 was fantastic.

I really liked the underground settings and the building complexes in FO3 more. I just loved the feeling of deep dark urban decay, and I have always been envious of the cataphiles, infiltrators, tunnelers, and other urban explorers who explore railways, deep tunnels under cities, and abandoned places. So FO3 feels like "home" to me somehow.

As much as I love FNV, I miss that stuff and I miss FO3.

I'm sure that the next game by Obsidian will have plenty of dungeons but I also miss the atmospheric and sometimes creepy interiors of Fallout 3.

I miss them too...they were such a great source of distraction and loot.. New Vegas I find myself distracted by side quests that stretch my inventories thin with no viable loot past a couple hundred caps. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hurting for loot that bad, just wish I had some dungeons to dive into in NV.

After the twentieth hour in a familiar FO3 dungeon, I grew really tired of them. There were way too many in FO3. I'm glad there aren't as many in NV. Love the game. Now, all I need is a NV patch for PS3. After 46 hours, the game is crashing and breaking badly.

Really? I find myself constantly reaching the cap of my inventory despite there hardly being any dungeons (gotta stay on topic :celebration: ) but thats because I basically loot EVERY piece of ammo (which, since I play hardcoe mode, has weight) and weapons so I can sell them later, which I forget about 90% of the time

The Vaults is the dungeons of FNV. Theres five Vaults in the game, with one being for show only.

The biggest Vault has like five floors.

Though I think Fallout 1 and 2 had the best dungeons. I still remember the Glow, which Vault 34 quite resembles. Or the Sierra Army Depot in Fallout 2. Sprawling, underground prewar bases holding sinister secrets of the old world, with you being the first to breach their defenses, was a feeling i was missing from FNV.

The dungeons? They stayed in DC where they belong.

Just like Obsidian cut back on other things (such as terminals to hack), I think it was the right decision to make, but I think they cut back a bit too much.

I would love to see a reasonable number of *good* dungeons - the trick is, they have to be unique, so that's a cost in development time.

Makes you wonder how these "prospectors" manage to make a living.
