In the Heroes MP footage, towards the end you can see the sniper shot taken from the killcam looks as though he's aiming above the guys head.

That being said, Crysis1 had bullet drop but it was almost non-existent. The code is there and can be easily changed to increase it.

Like BC2? What you mean having small bullet drop for sniper rifles only but any other gun can shoot you at the same distance with no drop at all. Almost all of these games screw up the real life physics like bullet drop or windage. Nothing worse than trying to snipe a guy where you have to adjust your cross hairs for the minor bullet drop to get him and he shoots you while aiming at you in the center because AR's, LMGs, SMGs, pistols, and shotguns have no bullet drop in these games.

I agree completely. If you are going to do it, do it correctly.

And to do it correctly you need huge maps which usually results in slower gameplay unless the player count is huge which usually results in more lag.

Completely agree on how silly the bullet drop is in BC2 as well. Slightly stupid when an AN94 out-guns an M95 sniper rifle across the distance of the map.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of "keep the bullet drop constant across all weapon sets", not to match the bullet drop to reality. ;) Maybe in the future, but we don't have maps big enough for realistic bullet drop to be programmed into games right now.

And the AN-94 is awesome, my favorite assault rifle in Bad Company 2.

Well actually it goes like this:

AN-94
AKS-74u
M60
M95

Sorry for offtopic...

Yeah, but if an M95 which has a real life max range of 1.8km starts to drop off after 100m or so in-game, that means an AN94 with a real life max range of 700m is going to act like a water pistol in-game.

Crytek had it right in Crysis1. The bullet drop would be unnoticeable in the majority of maps seen in Crysis1. Using the in-game binocular measurements, it was about 300m from the carrier to the main shore.

Fall of shot is in the game sure, if your a sniper, but i dont unferstand not apllying the same physics to other weapons, I hope this has been corrected in Crysis 2.

I havn't experienced fall of shot problems in any game, I usually get too close for it to be a problem, in reality only the sniper should really have to worry about shotfall/spread footprint.

A well placed sniper would not be worried about being shot by a pistol from some distance, and I really hope the new game reflects that matter.

The Sniper shot in the demo was a fairly close shot by standards, it would not have been too difficuilt for another player to take him out from the same level as the target victim, if he was using something like a Scar with a red dot, as the sniper was skylined, and seemed to be standing.

Granted this would have required more than one round but would have been possible, though it begs the question of, can we go prone in the game or at least semi prone, this guy was on a rooftop and would have really stood out against the skyline from a lower level.

I guess we will have to wait and see what is said, it Seemes Nathan was very tight lipped about most of the Q's asked in the interview, including this issue? time will tell. :-)
