Games kill laptops, simple fact.

Your best option would be to buy a proper PC, unless you want to settle for a console.

Fixing the last issue cost me roughly the same amount as a brand new console - and I bet this will as well. When I get back home I'm getting me an xbawx, I'm done with computers.

Student life is bliss.
You could try a desktop, but what was wrong with the laptop?

I personally feel that desktops are where its at for gaming and laptops should be confined to class work and things along those lines.

I hope you have good luck out of the console and I hate to see anyone give up PC gaming, because coming from consoles to PC. There is no competition.
There is just so much more on the PC, great sim games like I-racing and flight games, then you have all the other goodies too.

Yeah, it's not gaming-related though - first time around my DC power jack got shafted, and this time around it's my battery that's gone up in flames.

Thanks for the love, bros. Post some spoiler-free videos over the weekend - save this damned soul of mine.

On the bright side, you won't get all the bugs of the first days. Although Beth releases a patch on day 1, there will be other bugs. Get a console or a proper desktop for gaming, laptops overheat too easily.

Shoulda invested in a good desktop, never was big into laptop gaming. Desktops can be so much more powerful as well.. Consoles break too people.

I got 360, Ps3 and gaming PC. I choose PC for Skyrim, love the performance and playing on Ultra settings rocks in any game

This is why I gave up with PC gaming.

Cheaper to have a console pack up and die then what it is a PC, my PC used to do it frequently. Graphics cards were the main culprit.
I've had my 360 for 3yrs and its never had a drama. Sure the graphics aren't as flash but it just works.

Such is life, I went thought 2 xbox 360s, and but both of my Custome bult PCs are still going strong. One is going on 3 1/2 years old and is not mine anymore and my personal one is 2 years old now.

Not true. I bought my previous laptop in 2006 I'm a heavy gamer, and I only recently replaced it with another one so I could run Skyrim. It wasn't broken or anything. I did manage to fry a video card on a PC though.

And consoles? Why would I ever want to settle on an inferior product?

Omg RROD how many 360 s have RROD? Here where i live you've had tons of people advertising repairs on CL for the RROD.. The consoles had a higher failure rate no doubt,
the new xboxs may be a lot less prone to failure but its still there.

Unless you tend to go mobile, then you should turn to Desktop PC.

I've never had a drama with my 360 - period.

I've had a few PC's and they've ALL had some drama or another. Whether it be PSU's or GPU's dying. That and the other stability issues that go with PC's.
After years of it I decided I'd rather PLAY the games, then [censored] about trying to make them work.

There is no such thing as a gaming laptop.

There are "play-around" laptop, or "gaming with older games" laptops, though. :whistling:

Just be a real gamer and build yourself a high tech shrine of a desktop PC ! For playing when outside, just use your phone, portable console or tablet :D

All electronics are prone to failure, its luck of the draw. Someone might hate Sony TVs because they have had bad luck with them while loving a Samsung Tv because the one they had never failed, and another person might experience the total opposite....

Never had any problem running my games on my new PC. I can hook it up to my 1080 p HDTV, have a recliner in front of it while playing for comfort, use a 360 controller on it, and have way better performance, mods, and higher textures. I have my consoles for exclusives but for multi platform games I get on my PC, it performs and looks better as should be expected, its not 6 years old.

Added plus , learn about PCs know how to repair them and maintain them and if something goes wrong buy the part cheap off newegg and fix it yourself.

Console = no advantage except being cheaper

PC gaming is the way to go. Unless you are a total idiot and get viruses left and right. Then you'd be better off with the N64.

Consoles can die as well.

That is why you have 2. :D

Yeah I know, it's a bit pricey but that is what I have. My first XBox RROD'd and when I sent that one in I bought another one because I was getting withdrawls. Now I have 2 of them and when one breaks, the other one is ready for temp use until I get my main one back.

Now I can game at all times without interuption.
