What will your first character be?

Post » Sun May 06, 2012 9:21 pm

probably an extremely dark and sinister Breton who kills for pleasure and turns into a werewolf at will to frighten her victims, she will basically rise through the ranks of all possible factions/guilds and control Skyrim, instilling fear and evil into the land. lol think of her as a darker, more bloodthirsty female Lucien Lachance.

Second character probably will be a Kajhit who tries to make as much good as possible in the land. Basically a complete opposite of my first playthrough, lol.

After many hours of planning and preperation creating my perfect character, after countless u turns on what type of character to play i decided f*** it.

I'm gonna start the game, decide on race with what i think looks cool, try out as many different styles as i can at the beginning to see what i enjoy and then let my character develop naturally as the game progresses!

It worked in oblivion and sure it will now.

I always find myself struggling on character creation, but from all the types of characters I want to play theres always two things I come back to: Stealth and Necromancy. So that's what I'll stick with and everything else will develop naturally.

Hmm, well, I'm definitely gonna be some sort of Melee Scavenger Hunter type of person. Not sure what weapon I'm gonna use, I do love axes though, so it's between One-hand + Shield or Two-Hand. Choices choices..

As for race, it's either Imperial or Redguard, since I'm gonna make my character look similar to Alec Mason from Red Faction Guerrilla. (Silly I know, I just love his looks. Can't help it. XD)

So my character creation process is gonna take a pretty long time I think. That's my favorite part though so I don't mind. ^^

Hmmm here is my solution to the problem OP. Play all 3 at once.

Its what I intend to do. I will play each one of my playthroughs up to a certain point then switch and play another to that same point but in a completley different way.

I will be playing the following:

Nord; Paladin type (good)
Dark Elf; Assassin/Ranger (chatoic)
Breton; Pure Mage (evil)

I am sure at one point I will find my favorite and make them first playthrough but I intend to paly them all at first to decide this factor.

I'll be a human smuggler for the light side...oh wait, wrong game...

I plan on experimenting a lot in the beginning of the game. Magic and enchantment are a lot of fun for so I'll be sure to try that. The bows look like they are a lot better now too. I might be headed for a stealthy spell slinging archer type.

The really happy joy joy for me is my vacay starts Saturday and I don't work on Fridays!

In that one video, the guy stress the fact that "you can climb that mountain over there..." Well Pilgrims, buckle up, I'm going mountain climbin'.

Ive never considered myself to be outgoing to alot of the different possibles that RPGs in general provide. When i play an rpg, i create the character, keeping in mind, realism and connection with myself. For example, i played through oblivion as an imperial because of how average/well rounded they are. Also i find them to be the most aesthetically pleasing for the same fact.
As for gameplay and my style, I love stealth with a background of weapon mastery with a touch of magic(nothing fancy). Call me boring but for some reason i enjoy a character thats more grounded to earth and myself far more than a character who isnt( hopefully that makes sense)
My plans for Skyrim: Imperial male, stealth ranger.

If archery is more powerful this time around that seems more appealing to me than before. I loved the feel and sound of the bow i oblivion and used it very much.

Though it bugged me sometimes that you could pepper someone full of arrows and be forced to kite enemies around before defeating them. I hope it works better in skyrim, and that there are some cool perks!

Imperials also seem more useful to me than before, better class bonuses etc. So I might consider them for a change.

I'm feeling a little better about this now!

An Altmer Mage assasin, so Mage stats mainly focus on restoration, destruction, and either illusion or alteration. Sneak, and some light armor and 1 handed.

I will make a Dunmer assassin with dual wielding daggers and swords (backstabbing will probably be with 1 dagger), shooting with bow and arrow, light armor. illusion magic, lockpick and pickpocket, sneak (duh) and maybe some other magic

I want to be a loud mouthed Imperial. With big mercantile skills, mace / heavy armor, alchemy to get the coins rolling and of course one of the magic tree's... Guess Restoration or Alteration will do. Though I also love
those trap kind of spells. Somehow I think Imperials are not so wanted in Skyrim, so this will be a hard one for the social favorite race, right?

A Redguard named Nigrar, Keeper of Shadows, who befriends nice people. These people eventually become comfortable with him, see him as a part of the family and a helping hand. But then when they least expect it, he murders them at his convenience and takes their belongings.

I have a similar question. I am thinking I will be a character that focuses in one handed and marksmen. But which race? A Nord or an Imperial?

Im Going to attempt a Nord Barbarian Weapons Master, mainly using two handed weapons, and a little stealth with bow use. the only magic he will be using are his dragon shouts. Some black smiting on the side as well.

Hmm I've assumed all along I'd play as a Breton Battlemage but as it gets closer to Friday I'm increasingly tempted to play as a Nord...which sort of makes me think I should play as a warrior?

Pretty unsure now.

I know what you mean as I was going to play as a Dunmer but it just feels right to play as a nord 1st playthrough. I really dont know what to do. :banghead:

If you're having trouble deciding do what I do narrow it down to your two favorite options then flip a coin.

I really love the story about the tension between the Imperials and the Nords, it will make for some sweet roleplaying.

You should totally join the Battle-born and battle the Stormcloaks, seems made for you!
