What will your first character be?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 5:17 am

So, have you decided what your first character will be?

Cause I feel like I'm steadily loosing my mind with each passing hour leading up to 11-11-11...
- I wanna be an epic powerful Nord with shield and sword
- I wanna be a mystical Dunmer battlemage destroying my enemies with magic
- I wanna be a brutal Orc with a two-handed warhammer crushing the skull of anyone who asks me something.
- I wanna be a sneaky Bosmer assassin/thief using alchemy, illusion and marksman and join the dark brotherhood

WHAT TO DO?????!=!'?ODJE**'##?WKFJ?FFFFUUUUUUUU............................... *sigh*

It's so hard to decide what path to choose for the first awesome playthrough. I'm not some WoW grinder who wants to do everything, and join every guild and explore every inch of the game at the same time, I want to roleplay and really immerse myself in this amazing world. And of course, for me at least, it's always more exciting the first time you enter the new world Bethesda has created.

The anticipation is so immense and I really want to get the most out of my first playthrough. How will I interact with Skyrim for the first time? With what morals? With what powers? And so on...

Whats your thoughts on this? Anyone else feel torn by all this awesomeness? Cause I sure am!

Two handed weapons are very powerful. If you want an easy time, go two-handed and orc. (orc has the sickest power..)

Yeah, but as I said, it's not about what's easy, it's about in what way I want the story to unfold, which i find very hard to decide.

I was thinking of an assassin for my first character and max out stealth and and everything and be the most silver tongued cat around.

Edit: I did not mean cat as in Khajiit.

Thanks! Yeah I can't wait to learn a lot more of the Skyrim lore and factions and really get into writting up a background and role-play.

Hmm I've assumed all along I'd play as a Breton Battlemage but as it gets closer to Friday I'm increasingly tempted to play as a Nord...which sort of makes me think I should play as a warrior?

Pretty unsure now.

I'm torn between a completely good dragonslayer warrior type who smiths his own armor or a completely evil nightblade for the dark brotherhood.

I love the image and the fantasy of the Mongolian Horde from the 16th Century, so I always play tuned up character of a Ranger (yup, I see them as Ranger more than Barbarian).

I love Stealth and I love LOTR as well, in each RPG I roughly studied a little bit about the game so my character is not totally rubbish in combat, so at the end my Mongolian inspired Ranger becomes something totally different, usually just a stealthy murderer.

Rangers and thieves/assassins seem like the most popular choices, and I'm starting to feel the Ranger-style a bit

My first character is probably going to a Nord Warrior for the novelty of it. My second character may be a Breton Battle mage or maybe a Bosmer Arcane Archer. So many options :)

My first character of Oblivion was a real mix of genres. He was a Battle-mage assassin-thief archer lol. Then I figured I'd drop the mage part for my second character. I think I'm going to try this again in Skyrim coz I can't decide either.

Same problem here. I thought I had it all planned out, that I would be a Nord Warrior first, then do my Imperial Warrior/Breton Mage/Dunmer Battlemage/Khajiit Thief all afterwards, but NOOOO, I had to go and be tempted by EVERYTHING. There is too much to do and I don't want to start them all simultaneously as I don't have the patience to sit through the opening every time. :(
