How to convince friend that Skyrim is awesome

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 7:52 am

< Thinks MW3 is a quality game and a very fun shooter that will play a lot this year, and is a huge TES fan and will likely spend at least 300 hours in Skyrim.

Your move.

Our definitions of quality vary greatly.

Mine is a well made, fresh and exciting.

Yours is seemingly copy+paste / run and gun + derp.

Your friend sounds like a moron from the way he starts bashing your taste on games amongst you and other people around. The best lines to take are:
a ) Bash his taste of games even harder (not going to accomplish anything but if you want to "argue")
B ) Let it be after telling him to s t f u.

Why? You can`t talk sense into stupid people they just get more and more winded up, it`s a known fact.

A lot of them wear saucepan helmets too - for realism.

Reassure him that Skyrim has been dumbed down to meet his needs.

Simply, Dont convince him its his lost not yours. Let him go play COD. Which takes no real decision making.

Does your friend have his eye on a certain girl?
Give a copy of Skyrim to this young lady, then proceed to talk to her about Skyrim every chance you get. (in the presence of your friend ofcourse)

Your friend will absolutely adore Skyrim in no time.

The closest thing to an rpg he would remotely like would probably be mass effect.

Mass effect is essentially COD with cut scenes :D

I have been arguing with my friend over the awesomeness of TES V. My friend is the typical COD fan boy drooling over MW3 and whenever I bring up Skyrim within our group of friends he starts bashing it. I tried to set him up on New vegas a couple of months back and he was absolutely horrible (even for a new player) I tried to guide him, but he just quit altogether. Now whenever Skyrim comes up he talks about how the games gonna svck and MW3 is gonna be so much better and now i need to win this argument I was hopping you guys might have a good rebuttal. :)
Let the game itself be your rebuttal. When it releases just invite him over to your place and show him the gameplay, it'll speak VOLUMES on it's own. If that doesn't do it then [censor] it. He doesn't deserve to play it

One of my coworkers was going to pick up COD last night at the midnight release and he knows I'm a big gamer and that I've been anticipating "some game called Skyrim" for months now, but he asked me whether I was going to pick up COD that night as well.

I replied to him that while I did enjoy playing COD, I was not planning on getting it anytime in the near future primarily because Skyrim was coming out on Friday, and secondly because while COD can be a very fun game to play with a group of friends or online, I prefer to play one-player games and tend to get bored of games like COD very quickly.

In short, explaining how game preferences differ amongst different people in crystal clear plain English while using a non aggressive tone so that the ADHD morons who have never read a book in their lives and worship COD can comprehend you worked best for me.
He saw my point and just agreed to disagree.

My brother and uncle are like that. Sometimes you just can't fix stupid. My brother told me that Mass Effect 2 is better than Fallout...despite the fact that he never played Fallout. He wold refer to Fallout as a "sissy game".

Whatever, they're dumb asses, at least I convinced my uncle to rent it.

Some people just don't like RPG's even as mainstream as TES is. Just ignore and enjoy the game yourself.

You know what, we have members who are CoD fans and we just don't allow threads that pick on members or groups of members.

CoD fans are among us.
