Sneakdaggers + bows enough?

It would be your job to take out the enemies one by one secretly using sneak and critical hits. An assassin/thief whatever isnt designed to face lots of enemies at once, youll die quicklyy

This is the character I'm designing.

One hand - 10 (dual wield daggers and swords)
Archery - 13 (steady aim, power shot, eagle eye)
Illusion - 3 (just enough for invis to vanish when outnumbered)
Light armour - 3
Sneak - 8 (assassins blade, muffled mov)
Alchemy - 7 (poisons)
Lockpick - 2
Conjuration - 4 (just enough to help out a bit)

I think this build will work just fine. Invis is a must. Conjuration is good for distraction.

Hey people, I think you've really helped me regarding how to play a stealth assassin like character. Thanks. This was a useful thread.

They demonstrated this in the one of their demo videos. An archer hit target one from range and the second target did not come instantly for him. He was then able to shoot the second target as well.

do you have a link to this video? Cuz i am very interested in this

It's a fairly old video.. frankly it demonstrated how stupid the AI is to be honest, if anything.

I just hope they work the stealth mechanics better this time around . I hated aggroing a whole group when i shot a guy from a mile a way while stealthed . I can understand them spreading out, or taking cover, but no way can i believe they instantly located me .
Same here. Unfortunately this seems to be fairly typical in most games these days. I hope Skyrim gets it right.

It has been confirmed that if you use your bow while in sneak and kill an opponent, you will not aggro them like in Oblivion. They will be "alerted" and search for you, but will not automatically know where you are at. SO, it is theoretically possible to take out a whole group of individuals with a bow, or kill off the majority of them and then go daggers.

I plan on rolling the same type of character.

Yea, but there's also a fine line between the two. It would be pretty stupid if you were in a lit room, crouching, and people were "looking" for you.

On the other hand, I absolutely hated the oblivion aggro system. Unless you were fighting semi-blind opponents, they would NEVER drop the aggro even if you ran half a kilometer away from them.
