How do you know this?

Well it's already looking that way anyways though since mine hasn't shipped yet or even charged.

Still waiting for mine to even be shipped as well.

I just talked to someone with Amazon and he assured me that if delivery by Friday does not happen, that i would receive an email explaining why. He also mentioned that if delivery was not attempted, that I would be refunded for the shipping. He said not to worry though. Unless I get an email, it will be delivered. Well, that's at least something. But seeing as there is a holiday involved here, the smart thing would be to ship them out early to make sure they are delivered in time.

I gave up waiting on Amazon, cancelled my order. Ordered with Shopto instead, was dispatched not long after. I'm feeling much better now.

This is correct. I had preordered The Witcher 2 and it did not ship until the day before the release day. I had it in my hands on release day, so no need to worry

I think it just means no midnight playing for us Amazon folks. They usually deliver well before I get home from work, so I won't miss out much.

I remember some game where they gave me a digital download code to go along with my disc. no such luck this time.

Why won't we, i remember pre-ordering Rage and was able to play that the day before release with steam

Mine dispatched Wednesday morning from Amazon UK (First Class) so I assume it will definitely be here by Friday maybe even Thursday
