How come it unlocks at 1:00am in the UK and not 12:01am like everywhere else? Don't mind waiting the extra hour just curious..

It is 5:36 pm on wednesday, so I don't know how to ballpark the idea of 13 hours. that would be tomorrow morningish, not midnight.

are you in a different time zone like austrailia (I know it is sometimes a day different there)

Maybe it's local time but with no daylight time adjustment?

Will VPN work? I unlocked BF3 early this way but when I enable my VPN it still shows on the steam website for Skyrim that I have 1 day and 5 hours.

As long as you don't use a VPN to buy games cheaper STEAM is ok with using it to unlock games earlier.

It switches for me. Close out steam, relog into your VPN and then log into steam. If your not sure your VPN is working try googleing Whatsmyip and see if it changed.
