No Im not.

Its still you whos a fool for not looking at the information which tells you that the game is not available, OH, and by the way, Steam doesnt set release timers, Bethesda does, why arent you displeased with Bethesda aswell?

Youre extremely ignorant in your posts so far.

lets not let the thread derail lol, I think on the whole it just shows how the system can be improved for future use, as this way of activating games is relatively new. I think in future, each seperate country/time zone should unlock at the appropriate time, it surely cant be that hard to achieve this. I dont have much against this system, IF IT WORKS but when something like this crops up it does no favour for either the customer or the company, it would thus be in the best interests for everyone involved to change this accordingly so it doesnt happen again.

It is pretty goofy when you consider that they only do this to prevent piracy.... yet the first format to be pirated these days is for the Xbox. The future consoles will probably have thumb print, voice print, and blood sample identification .. .. and also include steam. :P

I agree. I'm not pointing any fingers on whose mistake it is right now. All I know is us GMT +8 are [censored]. I do hope whoever responsible for this mess, would at least not let us down again. It really infuriates me on how we won't get it the same time as others in the world.

Exactly, and actions like this will only lead others to pirate the game based on the hassle involved even when buying a retail game. Most would buy retail not just to support their game companies, but also because it is essentially hassle free and easy, take it home install and play, pirating is often more complicated but with the introduction of online activations, if this is done incorrectly it leads to this process becoming just as complicated as pirating is. Which leads to the question, why pay for something that would give you so much grief, when you can get it for free. Hopefully they fix this anyway, or at least let customers who purchase the game aware of any time restrictions etc that will be placed on the game.

Yea that is [censored], the situation in nz/aus is nothing compared to getting the game a whole day late, in many cases you could claim false advertising based on the 11.11.11 release date. Hope they clear this mess up, its extremely dissapointing and detracts somewhat from the game itself when it is surrounded by this poor management.

good idea, nz bandwith caps svck though so i think i wont dll it off steam and just wait lol. Would have been nice to just be able to play games liike in the old days without steam activation, or at least steam should activate it accordingly for each country.
Pre-loaded the game in about 3-5 minutes yesterday, DL averge rate was 4.5mb/m, happy I pre-loaded before DL rate's will go down. I can't play it yet until friday night because of RL reasons, but i'll just turn on the pc when I get home tomorrow evening, install the patch and of we go!

Meh, I guess it's just a day late. It svcks but what can we do, eh?

The best course of action is just to svck it up and wait for another day, eh? :sadvaultboy:

Valve/Steam did have a single unlock time worldwide originally - if they had stuck to that you would have been waiting until midnight PST or something like that. Bethesda changed it so that everybody should unlock around midnight in their time zone, Pete Hines tweeted about it several times. So which would you have preferred? Honestly just curious :)

Myself I wouldn't have minded the single worldwide release time as that would have allowed me a good nights sleep before playing the game all day (UK) :D

You don't need to, you can if you want to by going to Games->Activate a product on steam at the top left of the client. Or you could just wait until the game unlocks when you should be able to just use the disc to install.

No idea mate. Pre-ordered it on Steam since August 5th. :D

@Kiya, If they had chosen a single release date, I wouldn't be so upset. The main problem is that they decided to make it a worldwide release but unfortunately not for us in the GMT +8 timezone!

But bygones be bygones, 1 day wouldn't hurt that much, amiright?

Of course i would prefer waiting two hours still, but again, i think this is a good way of countering piracy IF it is done correctly, many will feel jilted that they bought the game but cannot play it, especially those who have to wait an extra day etc. I think that by rasing this, it gives them an oppourtunitiy to fix this issue in future, it surely cant be that hard to manage, although i can see it being a problem in terms of vpn's etc.
