I Broke my Thumb Today

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 9:42 am

I've decided that I'm just going to get drunk and play.

Being a 210 pound, muscular college student (I work at a production company and I am a carpenter. =) ) I don't get very woozy before my limbs start to tingle, my tolerance is high and I'm a pretty functional drunk. So... w00t!! Skyrim after all. =) I won't even CARE that the bones in my thumb look like BC powder inside the fleshy covering.

Problem solved.

That's right son! Man up!

I'm not a troll, jerk. I'm actually really bummed out. It IS in a splint, which makes my thumb too long to realistically press buttons in a battle situation. I've been drooling over Skyrim since February and been anticipating it since Oblivion. =/

Not to mention that it's excruciatingly painful to put any pressure on it. At all.

Buy the game and have one of your friends play it for you. Tell them exactly what to do. haha.

My right thumb. I'm totally effing serious. >=(
I beat you, I accidently drilled through my thumb last week when a drill bit jumped off the material.

Been playing some BF3 earlier in the week, my sidewinder keyboard had blood all over it during my last play session. Now thats hardcoe gaming. I'm hoping I'd give it Wed and Thurs to heal before Skyrim, getting tired of cleaning my keyboard.

DUDE. I'm 24, been in construction/home
Remodeling/production company work since summers at the age of twelve. I have done one what you did. I feel for you. Did you have to reverse your drill? I did. Flesh was too mangled to just pull it out. =/

On the bright side... you'll likely only do it the one time. Lol

HAH!

I broke my right thumb, index, and middle finger. I was still able to play WoW and Oblivion for the few weeks it took them to heal. You must learn, young Padawan.

I used to be a mechanic, got lots of rust in my eye one day. Eyepatch for a month, lots of eyedrops, and I kept smashing glasses and knocking my Xbox controller to the floor due to my awful depth perception. :( Very annoying.

Just pulled it out, my thumb was too mangled for the bit to grip any more, I was using a powerful drill. I'm not in construction, but I am an ex Army Ranger, so I just pulled the drill out, wraqed by thumb in a papertowle and duct tape, and finished working. lol.

WEIRD. I'm a USMC Reservist. My MOS is Forward Observer. I also went back to work... as I did with my crushed thumb as well. =)

Pain lets you know your still alive. Funny how military frontline soldiers react to injuries.
