How to kill and steal without getting caught

A.) Not true.
B.) Who said Skyrim svcks? I haven't even played it yet. But there are still sure signs that they've lost their touch, and just like Blizzard has in recent years been known for its new cartoony art/animation style, Bethesda is starting to become known for a big open world completely devoid of intelligent life... and also bad animations (which seem to be mostly corrected in this game, thank god). The bucket thing could be pretty hilarious, and I'm all for having optional aspects of the game being that it's single player only (see: Spell Creation, mounted combat, all the lost weapon types, all the lost spell types, etc, etc... mostly things Bethesda takes out little by little, game after game, for absolutely no reason), my complaint was more aimed at the NPCs complete lack of reaction when the bucket's removed and his companion is laying in a bloody mess obviously within sight (I definitely got a good laugh from whoever said it's good to see that the AI line of sight is working).
I'm not even going to bother replying to this because I know I won't be able to convince you of anything. If you hate the series so much now, just jump off the hype train and hitch a ride back to Arena.

BTW, your initial post never directly said "Skyrim will svck", but even a moron can tell that what you mean was "Skyrim will svck". You say you will judge it when you play it but you and I both know that, due to your current mindset, you will hate it regardless.

Do you realise how freaking unbalanced the game would be if it decided that you were responsible for every dead body that the AI could see?

Imagine. Some random giant runs into a town, kills 3 guards, they're all lying on the ground. You walk over there to help kill it, and promptly get turned on by the guards for murdering 3 of them?

You don't even know how crime and punishment work in this game. The NPC cannot react to the dead body - because there is no way that the dead body could be attributed to the player. The "AI" is a bot. It isn't a human. It's not capable of reasoning.}

I'm not so sure this is unintended. Seems a devs joke to me. I mean really, the characters don't see out of their eyes. It's a game.

If it's not, it's the coolest accident I've ever seen in a game.

:lmao:

Pretty sure its intended. I think it is so that NPCs can't detect you through walls, behind trees etc. like they could in Oblivion.

Don't think it's planned, yes it might get discovered during beta and kept, think npc see from their head, this will stop other absurd situations like an Bosmer seeing over a wall who is higher than him

And yes it's funny, time to collect some baskets. This might even be useful if a lot of NPC become hostile to you after an conversation or something.
Make them basket cases then sneak kill them.
Luckily you can go 3rd person if somebody do this on you.

I have a strange feeling that isn't a bug, but intentional.

It was probably a never considered to be an exploit. Thats the beauty of giving games to the public though. They truly get to test every condition and aspect of the game.

A simple fix to this would to be to modify the collision geometry so the buckets are still deep enough to put small things into, but small enough that it cannot properly stay ontop of someone's head. This can also probably done by making collision geometry a small slope rather than plane or something that'll take shape to a head.

Now we need a bucket that will fit on a dragon head.
Dragon takes off - flies into a mountain.

I'm looking forward to putting a metal container ove some NPC's head then hit it with the mace, do you think it will ring in the NPC's ears

Gotta say though, that I am impressed this does blind the NPC's even if it an easily exploitable, but if I'm not mistaken the engine uses collision geometry to decide where an NPC can see.
