I was terrified reading so bad things about PC version

Giving negative comments it not = to acting like a child, you're just a fan-boy who won't accept that this is in-fact a console port.

And therein lies the issue... You obviously can't see it, rhe fact you keep referring to is as a console-port, is a major reason as to why your inciting flame wars/console wars, or whatever you want to call it. Rather than just give the reasons you don't like the UI, you just come across as someone having a moan, and also someone who feels that PC users are the only customer, clearly Bethesda have tried to make it good for everyone.

Most other PC users seen to be fine with it, and are getting on with playing.

So far MY PC Skyrim has been good, with only one freeze in my 3 hours experience.
And the fact that the "RUN" key doesn t work and i am forced to use the toggle run/walk key

I m Playing on Ultra with all stuff ramed to the most demanding.
Grafics aren t perfect because of techniques used for consoles, but that was expected, and althought far from melting face GFX are near the top of the actually used.

The worst part in Skyrim is the horrible consolition that almost ruin combat with a menu that must be acessed each combat and break the streamliness. And what surprise me is the fact that such problens could be fixed with small implementation like 2 weapons settings swapables with a single key so Missile users for example could pass from ranged setting to CQC without having to acess the odious multi layered UI.
What hapened with the old and good interface where you see your character and fit it with the equipment you want ? This Excell colunm spreadsheet interface is really a pain you know where.
I haven t leveled yet, but looking at perks, the arrangement, limitations and choice are really weird...?ets see how it develop itself.

The rest of the grips i have so far are really lack of small features that would make the game perfect.

All in all SO FAR, NOW, my hopes have been restaured and bethesda gained a credit.

Have you tried mapping spells/items to your favorites, and just pressing Q while in combat? It doesn't pull you out into the menus and is a lot quicker to use.

Well im a big fan of the series, big fan of Bethesda Softworks and a huge RPG fan. So to say my opinion about Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is inherintly bias is an understatement. But even as a fan I was a bit startled about the very "console" like interface. I don't think its inacurrate to say that this game was made for the console and adapted to the PC because on the PC with a mouse I could sketch out a better interface in under five minutes. So designing a proper PC interface is not the hard part, the hard part is taking the time to program that interface for a special version of the game for the PC and its clear to me its this that Bethesda did not take the time to do. The interface simply could have been a lot better.

My biggest beef with the interface is the fact that you are forced to use it all the time. In oblivion you had a very clever "quick button" mechanic that aliviated the nescessity to constantly bring up the interface and because its scroll driven their are far more mouse clicks required to get to anything than their should be. This interface in turn constantly pulls you out of the action and greatly reduces the imersion of the game.

Beyond that what is left are the visual bugs and I believe these can be fixed, but the interface we are unfortunatly stuck with though I believe their may be some modding/patching to this interface down the road.

To me however this does not create enough of an issue to overshadow the fact that Elder Scrolls Skyrim is an enthralling and fun game to play. Its just a pure joy and without question even after only a few hours playing the game I can honestly say it has trumped Dragons Age which is something I never thought I would live to see. Awsome game that needs a bit of patching, but awsome none the less.

Frames arent as great as they could be, but I am above 45 FPS on ultra high so no complains there. The menu that everyone was making a huge deal out of took me a total of 10 minutes to familiarize myself with.

no real complaints as of yet.

And just a case in point why you shouldn't judge a game if you haven't played it considerably more than anyone has at this point. Their are often little interface secrets that solve big problems. I didn't know about this and this alone may be enough to greatly improve the experiance sooo... ya.. its really to early to complain about Skyrim though after a few hours with the game am completetly hooked and as I learn more about the interface and ways to speed things along I think the game will get better. But ... again.. its just way to early to say much other than that the first impressions are quite good for me.

This thread is fail. Many of us have legimate issues and problems. The game is the best don't get me wrong. But some of us crashing none stop some of us are BSOD. Some of us have $2000 PC's that get 30 FPS. Some of us were lied to and told that this game supports quad core and was recommended when all the benchmarks proved this wrong.

So yeah guys don't call people trolls because their having issues and not having a good time. I assume millions or a million people bought Skyrim I'm sure over 500,000 being PC Players maybe.... 400.000 are playing the game keeping their mouths shut and the 100,000 yes pulling these numbers out my butt are having issues posting here. So yes things are negative because the only people here are pretty much the people left behind.

I was also scared. But the game runs fine on Ultra, even on my outdated card. It takes awhile to get used to the UI, which sadly, I must say, is very very poor and unfriendly to PC users. But I won't let this ruin my immersion. I'm sure I'm still going to enjoy Skyrim.

I was totally intimidated but I love it. I'll spend many moons in Skyrim with my dark elf Ashan. I'm playing on a Qosmio laptop with a sandy bridge i5 and GTX460. The menu takes a bit to get used to but really my only issue besides the R and F switch from Oblivion is that I can't see my character when I open the equip window.

Yes i love the game, yes the UI was annoying but until i installed patch 1.1, the mouse works now. I truly enjoy this game and is worth every penny, unlike other flops like Crysis2 or Rage.

The performance is good too, getting 80-100 FPS and the games use all 8 logical-cores on my i7 and yet my comp is 3 yrs old with a 4870X2.

Happy here :)

Yeah I am running it maxed out 8x aa 16x af, max everything on a GTX560 (non ti) and its smooth as a baby's bum and looks great. Its not Witcher 2, but its close enough for me! Congratulations Bethesda on a real achievement - making something that runs on an xbox and looks damn good scaled up to true HD. I was worried, but seriously, its really good enough graphically as-is with plenty of room for modding up or sideways to suit tastes.

Can't wait to get my hands on the creative tools now!

You can "Quickmap" Favorited items to the 1-8 keys, allowing you to change spells / weapons / equipment like in Oblivion :) (Note: you can only quickmap items that are favorites).

I have been very happy with the performance on my pc. I haven't really noticed any issues, but then again the small bugs dont bother me. I am using an xbox controller as i am more comfortable playing this way. Seeing that this game was designed with a controller in mind, it was the natural choice.

I love the game so far, the only grip is lack of hotkeys but im sure that will get fixed by mods or a official patch. Game is great and looks beautiful.

EDIT: just saw kriscon's post... gonna try that, thanks!

People are such whiners, in most things computer/video games they just like to be difficult and once you actually get the product everything is perfect.
This game is described as one of the best games ever made by 'professional gamers'. I don't have it yet but it should be amazing.

Most people who are "happy" with the way the game is working for them are too busy playing the game. So yeah, initially you're going to read from a lot of people who are griping or reporting tech issues.

Some of the tech/bug issues are real, they're not all trolls/whiners...but a forum full of complaints, whatever they may be, doesn't = majority of people who bought/are playing the game. Just like game reviews, gotta take forum stuff with a pound of salt. :)

No idea why people say bad things about it really, i think the ui is working great, no problem with mouse sensetivity
and i'm running a badly outdated rig on high with great results, couldn't be happier tbh.
2.6ghz 4 gigs of ram and a 2.5gig Radeon HD4870, thought i was gonna be stuck at low/medium but holy crap.
