If you wanted to have it so badly on release, why didn't you just buy it off of Steam?

not been following the news? steam got hacked.. besides some of us prefer a physical copy to an ether copy

I ordered from Play.com and got it on the day before release. Sometimes Amazon is a pain.

Hi,

I ordered in the UK from Amazon.co.uk on the 5th of November. I specifically selected "Release date delivery" along with "First Class".

They sent the item on the 9th which, in theory, would have meant getting here on the 11th (2 days, basic post) however our post here is...a bit poor... so I paid a little extra for first class. I got it on the 11th, so 2 days to get here when first class is guaranteed 1 day supposedly...still, no one in the UK really believes that any more. It's actually rare that I use Royal Mail rather than a courier for such things but, equally, I rarely order from Amazon either.

It is very very frustrating when items do not arrive as hoped. Sometimes it's the vendor simply not sending things out on time, more often it's the postal service - though with proper couriers this has rarely been an issue for me.

Just checking my invoice, I paid an extra £2.03 (inc VAT) for first class as there's no way the free option would have gotten to me promptly. I do not recall seeing an "expedited" option at the time, but I'm not that familiar with Amazon orders only having done two or three in the last couple of years. So possibly I missed that option.

Hope you get things sorted.

Just to annoy everybody else, I ordered on the 26 June 2011 with Free Super Saver Delivery. The dispatch estimate was 11/11/2011, the delivery estimate was 14/11/2011. The dispatch date was 10/11/2011 and the delivery date was 11/11/2011 :) Good job Amazon.co.uk & Royal Mail!

Yep, some areas just have a more reliable postal service. I leant that we're "poor" at best a long time ago. I mean, two or three days is normal for first class stuff here, though we do get the odd surprise. That's why I generally courier everything I order online if it's an option as the Royal Mail are simply not reliable enough.
