Do dual daggers do more sneak attack damage?

Yeah if you put points in assassins blade (sneak tree) x15 damage which is awesome!! :)

I'm gonna test the daggers using less stamina thing, because I thought I was gonna be a dual wielding dagger assassin until I actually tried it... dual wielding swords is 10x better but I didn't factor in stamina use.

Has anybody figured out what criteria is needed to trigger a "throat slit from behind" sync kill?

Like does it only go off if you would normally kill an oponnent?
So far I've specced with "backstab". ( I haven't gotten the x16 dagger damage yet )

I've used it actually in the middle of combat when they turned their back to me on a semi regular basis.

I have a tendency of instinctively going into stealth mode to do this but I don't know for sure if it's really required.

Only real downside so far is, I'm still not sure how to properly perform backstabs. Sometimes it works, sometimes I simply can't get it to work. Anyone got any ideas? It's definitely not 1 dagger vs. 2 daggers (as I believed before).

I've done a throat slit type kill with a shield equipped.

Once you get the silent roll getting backstabs in gets a bit easier since you can close the distance without being heard, once you have silent movement it's not difficult at all. A rule I have with daggers; when outmatched it's ok to flee and sneak back in later for another backstab. I expect life will get even easier once sneak tree is mastered and it's easier to restealth. Add alchemy poisons and you have enough tools to deal with pretty much anything with daggers but... I'd still recommend getting good with a bow for picking off those targets out of reach and for hit and run attacks on super tough enemies.

I've been spamming my illusion skills to get in for the silent kill.

Muffle does wonders.

it is VERY difficult to get in melee backstab range early on.

I made a Dunmer last night with a Sword in his right hand for combat and a dagger in his left for sneak attacks. So far it hasn't worked as well as I'd hoped, but that's more to do with my low sneak.

As far as i can work out, It's just a random animation that occurs sometimes but I think only when you either are powerful enough to take down the enemy (as an opener) or when you have got their health really low and they are facing away from you, or if facing you will trigger another finisher move!!

But to be successful with stealth, you have to get pretty deep in the sneak tree!
