FUS RO DA = Fun, but useless

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 8:12 pm

Some of you guys have to realize its purpose isn't to do damagem its to disrupt enemies from either casting spells or slamming their weapons in your face. I've found it incredibly useful when I'm being swarmed by multiple foes, using it gives me time to heal, run, or charge in and get in some good damage while they're all down.

Yep, true.

Couldn't disagree more with the OP, as a 2h Warrior the shout is really helpful to knock down powerful enemies like frost trolls and snow bears and then rush them with a power attack which I know won't be retaliated. It works really well against multiple enemies too in a little cave or pathway. It's basically amazing crowd control.

I love it, I kill lots of enemies with it by forcing them off of cliffs and high drop off points.

Yeah, like i said. It's good to knock enemies back to catch your breath and stuff, but i also would've liked that they would have had added some damage to it (not killing, but a little bit), but i still love it, without a doubt, always good to have that "Unrelenting Force" in your fav menu.

It's all about the breathing room baby.

Big guy wearing you down? Fus Ro Da
Target trying to flee? Fus Ro Da
Trying to get past a strong enemy? Fus Ro Da
Getting swarmed? Fus Ro Da

Plenty of uses that are very practical and useful.
Person standing on a cliff? Fus Ro Da
Like being a jerk? Fus Ro Da

Ok, this shout has saved my life on several occasions. I have also shouted some bandits off some really high elevations, only to watch them plummet to their deaths. It also staggers dragons for a nice opening.

Yep, nice to stagger dragons and them hit them with a 2H, i use
Spoiler
Wuulfgar
for that. Just imagine if you could knock back dragons, climb to their chest and stab them into heart, would be awesome.

I always make it a top priority of mine to lure my enemies near a cliff if we are by one, it's just so satisfying to see them go flying off :P.

When using it in creative, smart ways it's quite useful.

its not the shout itself that is meant to kill its what you choose to do to them while they are disoriented that is the real threat to your opponents well being whether thats giving them a coronary bypass via arrow or flaying them alive with your sword or hacking away with an axe or mashing them to a paste with your hammer or mace.

Yeah, i usually do it like that; Fus Ro Da something to the ground, and start pummeling it :)

It's a crowd control ability, so it makes sense that it feels useless when used directly as a weapon. Personally I think it is very useful.
