Would Love to Know Numbers

There is no other reason to cell the cities in Skyrim.

I was around in the community back in 2005/2006 and remember the decision to remove Levitate and Jump and cell cities being a function of XBox memory limitations.
So why can't you jump at all in Witcher?

cuz it isnt part of its gameplay -.-
u cant jump in guildwars too and it's pc only :P

btw: open world wouldnt be so great for pc too, i looked at my vram usage my 1gb are always nearly full, just with celled cities/indoors i can play ultra textures else it wouldnt be possible cuz i run out of vram, or they make auto loading/cleaning in background, would bring stocking (hope thats the right word) gameplay like in gothic 3 -.-

It's a little too convenient to claim that for other games limitations are design choices and for TES it's catering to consoles. The differences between Daggerfall and Skyrim have nothing to do with the power of consoles.

And regarding TW2, if the biggest exclusive on a platform with a 500 million units userbase (PC) sells 1 million in 6 months, while console exclusives on platforms with 50 million units userbase (PS3, X360) sell over 3 millions in a week (Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3), you know where the money is.

Yes there is, I have moderately good PC with AMD 6950 2GB card in it, open city mods kill my frame rate in oblivion and would do so too in Skyrim (if not mores so), i'd have to dial down the settings to just to get a playable FPS. I'd rather have top notch graphics thanks.
