First Dishonored Video Footage!

Wow this game sounds and looks amazing, why isn't bethesda marketing this game!

We're just getting started. This small round of previews (we only showed the game to only one outlet per territory) kicks things off, and you'll be hearing plenty more in the coming weeks and months.

Nick and I are heading down to Arkane (their Austin office) in the near future and will be sharing more on the community end soon.

Get excited!!

I was pretty skeptical of the special powers until they discussed the double-jump blink combo. It's going to be mighty difficult not to get over-excited about this game.

I was excited before.
Now my interest in this game has increased tenfold!

Good job Arkane.

It looks like they're starting the marketing up right now, after 6 months of silence since the original announcement. I expect we'll be hearing a lot more over the next months.

I can't wait!
Yeah I was getting worried it would just float under the radar after so little media attention but I guess that's about to change. Also when did you become a mod? congrats :)

Can I come :P
Good to hear it's going to be getting some much needed attention though.

What is going on with the gamespot video? It is really kicking off judging by the comments and likes but for me it is stuck on 309 views?

76, 553 views as of 15 seconds ago.

I love Raf's comment about not trying to "fix" the game to get rid of unanticipated ways players were exploiting the powers. It seems instead they adapted the level design to accommodate what inventive players were doing.

It seems that 'Golden Cat' brothel is one of the most important locations in this game (a good place to get information and killing your targets).

Hopefully not! I hope it has more depth than those two!
I agree with you. I hope it has more depth than those two, but I doubt that it will. I mean, these guys mentioned that being a tank is a feasible option. (As much of a let-down as T:DS might have been, you certainly were not a tank). They bragged about a 'lean' feature as proving that they were dedicated to a stealth element. We don't know enough about the story (or city) to comment on that, although at first glance it looked like City 17. It looks promising in a Deus Ex: HR sort of way: a potential standout from a sea of pretty bad games, but forever living in the shadow of its older brother. Dishonored, of course, has no older brother. I feel that in trying to please those fans who come to it from, say, Assassin's Creed and those that are coming from the Thief series, they'll struggle the walking in the middle way.

And Deadly Shadows and Blood Money weren't bad games either, mind you. If Dishonored is as good as they were, I wouldn't be disappointed.

It's reassuring to see Raphael and Harvey excited about the game, and what people do with the game. It's not fake excitement, either -- they really do seem to enjoy what players come up with, and figuring out how to facilitate that. They've earned a lot of good faith from my side.

Here's some footage. Nothing new enough to warrant its own thread, but we do get to see a little more of the game in motion:

Awesome vid! loved the way they used the violin to give it somekind of melancholic dramatic kind of feel. i agree that i feel the dev doesnt want to give away too much at this point until they completely refined the game. Yeah, I would love to see more characcter diversity please!!
