Where is this snow accumulation and Intelligant radiant AI ?

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 11:22 am

thats just texture of the item I think some people are getting sugestioned by the "idea" of the dynamic snow but it is not happening , I haven't testimonied it and I still have to see anyone post a "true" prove...

I have experienced dynamic snow effects by travelling, often in the mountainous areas.

I haven't seen footprints but the covering definately builds up.

I could send you a picture but I honestly can't be asked. It's in your game there for you to discover.

As for intelligent Radiant AI they were doing this back in "Oblvion".

Mazogah the Orc once came up to me and without opening a dialogue box, proclaimed she was going to hunt some "Black Bows" and I could come along if I wanted.

She took me to a cave that was full of Black Bow bandits and we cleared them all out (How could I say no... she's voiced by Wonder Woman).

Hi guys and gals,

We can say that we don't care about snow accumulation or intelligent radiant AI but we can NOT lie to ourselves

There is NO such thing as snow accumulation as per what Todd Howard described...NONE...NOWHERE...and the intelligent AI thing is also a marketing mockery

For those who believe in these charades I am asking them to post 2 pictures before & after of a place where we can witness snow accumulation effect...by the way either snow accumulation happens everywhere or it does not happen who cares about snow accumulating in some random place in the woods (come on!!!)
But if this is the case as some posters here seem to believe they witness snow accumulating somewhere in the Wild then I am asking them to post those two pictures. At least the Skyrim community could go and admire the "snow accumulation script" of an obscure location.

On the radiant AI...I have not witnessed it...yet...Well my charatcer has killed some Talmor elves and there is now a bounty on me...Some assassins from the darkbrotherhood want to kill me indeed...Is this intelligent radiant AI or just a "ON DEATH Script"...I mean this kind of stuff happened in Oblivion and nobody was in Awe...

Don't get me wrong I like Skyrim for the shear pleasure of running arround in a beautiful nicely crafted virtual region. But make no mistake Skyrim is not a good game because of snow accumulation effect or intelligent radiant AI.

My 2 cents

I haven't really seen any snow accumulation, but I haven't been looking.

It also is cracking me up, what people are saying about the dragon fights. In Riverwood, that damn village seems to get attacked by a dragon pretty frequently. I've killed 7-8 there. Anyways, I kill the dragon and then people who were attacking the dragon walk away, which really breaks immersion. Why are they walking away? Then they walk back and stare at it. They say things like "I wouldn't have believed it unless I had seen it." Umm, you've seen it 6 times before.

I married Camilla of the Riverwood trader. Yet, her brother doesn't seem to know that I'm married to his sister and he constantly talks about getting his claw back.

Eventually, all the fighting NPCs of Riverwood were killed. Saddened, I drug their bodies in front of the blacksmith. Alvor's wife, walked up to his body, make a sad comment then walked away. I talked to her, and she said something about being married to Alvor. No mention that she just found out her husband is dead. These Riverwoodians seem to care very little about the massacre of their friends.

Give it a few years. I'm sure they'll soon have a feature where Bethesda sends a guy dressed like a guard to your house to fight you and your roommates after committing in game crimes.

I don't think the radiant AI is as prominent as people were led to believe. It's a little more subtle. For example;

I don't generally steal much on this character, but I was in Brylin's (Thane of Solitude) house and stole a few soul gems. While I was on the road later that day I encountered a band of thugs who charged at me and got laid out. I found a note on one that said "Kill that thief of an adventurer, Umbra (my character's name :) )" along with a bunch of other stuff in the note. At first I was like "Uh Oh, Brynlin's going to get it - I have dirt on her now" but once I went back into town and realized that there was no quest related to this and that Brynlin still acted the same, that this was a product of that AI. I re-read the bounty notice and the key word was "thief". I had stolen from her house so she put a hit out on me.

I'd imagine based on this scenario that more ruthless players will encounter more of the radiant AI than more honorable players. It probably comes into effect more when you steal and kill NPCs as you then have vendettas put out on you. With my current character I play a paladin-type, so I haven't ran into that much.

Been spenting hours and days ( ingame ) to watch rocks under sun and under tremendous snow storms and stayed the same no changes ..... no snow accumulated or melted over ... no snow footprints left by the character or cumulated over him when standing still... anyway the most showcased feature promised during interviews was this snow thing that the "new" engine should have done but I couln't see anywhere... did some of you see it and if so where that I can go to watch ?

about the radiant AI I have read that people can make friends and enemies , if you kill an owner of a shop then the cousin or something takes over , if you leave a weapon on the ground some people may come tofight over it , ..... well I tried some of those stuff and nothig happened , actually I even beat up a girl in solitude for a debt thig and after that she welcomed me and offered to sell her stuff very happy to see me , when actually she should have been quite angry and pissed off I guess....

This isn't real life or a next gen title running on new hardware. Be realistic! Game looks fantastic giving current hardware on consoles which is what this game was built around. The fact they were able to make this game run on my xbox is astonishing to me. AI quibbles is another story, i can agree there, but the over the top weathering isn't going to happen on this gen. Maybe if they built a specific PC build of the game then they could have all those bells and whistles but things are as they stand now and i'm more than satisfied with the game as it is.

Uh, there are torches in the game, I have a few myself.

They must be pretty hard to spot. Just hit level 23, been into just about every hole there is in the southeast part of the map.

My torch count to date = 2

And last night I actively went out looking for more torches and I couldn't find any.

I sure hope the patch their working on is massive. Seems like a lot of things are either bugged or glitched out. Mana regen being one of them.

There's a ramp on the walkway to Winterhold College that starts off with small specs of white that slowly "fills in" with full white over time when it's snowing.

They probably had to scale back their ambitions when they ran up against hardware limitations on their pet platform.

Doh, thats pretty clear by now.

Anyway, I actually took the effort of standing half an hour in the snow looking at a walkway and I can′t say it builds up, especially not dynamically. Bad thing? Naw..Overhyped? Def!

Like Todd going all loco over the fact you can rotate each object in the UI in full 3D lol...Who the [censored] cares, fix the friggin interface itself instead :P

Oh well..Mods will prolly fix most stuff like in the past and I can live without the dynamic snow.

Since no one could provide a valid proof or a video or images I guess there is no implementation of this dynamic snow accumulation ...

UNLESS it is done per season ...and not by storm or precipitation ... altough it wouln't make much sense .... dunno if that would matter....
