ngen nice video bro!! i am too playing an assassin but just wanted to know, daggers are awesome for opening moves, i love em and 1 shotting most things as i have more one perk then i will have maxed out my skill tree, also got points in 1 hand and archery but after the initial opening move, if there is more than one enemy, i.e a bunch of bandits or dragon etc do you still use your daggers or switch to double swords etc

i normally run away and restealth but just wanted to know how to deal with dragons as i have not fought one yet! (over 30 hrs and not touched any main quests :) )

thanks for any info!!

I try to avoid direct combat all-together. But you cant avoid it in every encounter (like with dragons). Its tough, especially on higher difficulty because i've sacrificed armor for stealth. But I try to jump around and avoid getting hit. And if direct combat is unavoidable I try to at least get one backstab off before I get into direct contact.

ahh sorry, saw you kinda of answered that here! so you still to your daggers then?

I've got a a level 20 or so dunmer assassin. Once you get sneak high enough, you can avoid almost all standup fights when clearing out a dungeon. Part of the reason I chose a dunmer though was for ancestors wrath since having some nice aoe can help in a situation you're the weakest in which is being surrounded.

I'm currently playing a mixed Sword/Dagger assassin, mainly because I've only got one decent dagger so far (Mehrunes Razor), although thats problematic because its proc chance is so low (and obviously so).

I also wish the DB armour looked half as cool as the Nightingale armour, might have to mod that..

I just wish that a proper, bonafide sneak behind an npc would give you a reliable "3rd person action kill", if you've gone to a lot of trouble to get behind them!

Nice video Op!

yeah I still use the daggers. If I really get into trouble I have a shield and a second hand sword with me, Just so I can play defensive, but I havent had the need to use it for ages. If it comes to open combat I use shouts to keep the enemy at distance.

Unrelenting Force -> run away -> restealth -> backstab. And remember if you backstab an enemy with a dagger, you only need to be out of line of sight from other enemies then they wont detect the kill.

Good video man, grats.

I'm doing a similar build, except I don't go for dualwield (yet maybe), I use 1 dagger+spell or 1 sword+spell if I'm not able to kill the enemy or if there's more than 1 and I'm discovered.

So far I am:

Sneak 96 Took everything except silence and shadow warrior. Need to test em more and see if I really need em, so far I could live without those skills.

Light armor 66 now, I let some wolfs hit me and raise it abit. Took everything except deft movement and matching set. I don't stand a chance in an open fight anyways and I will prolly not use matching sets, so waste of perks imho.

Lockpicking 50 no perks, didn't need yet

Pickpocket 100 no perks

Archery 62 Plan is to get 5 on overdraw, 1 eagle eye, 1 steady hand (think 1 is enough)

One-handed 4 Armsman, fighting stance. And here I have a question for you. Do we actually need anything else here? I mean dual fury and savagery are ofc nice, but so far I've been able to 1 shot everything after lvl 20 or so and I don't go much toe to toe with my oponents. I either shoot em from distance or control em with spells or just 1 handed sword/dagger with paralyze is enough or been enough so far. So please advise, would u suggest savage strike and paralyze or dualwield side or all of em together. Since like I said, I didn't have to rely on those perks so far.

Illusion 92 Took whole right side. Crowd control (CC) been amazing so far, except some random resists. 2 enemies together in the light, calm 1>sneak attack the other>finish nr 1. Easy. (with high stealth+irl skill, u can prolly take out 2 fast enough with roll too, but again, do I need dualwield right here? Nope... sad)

And that's it. I'm lvl 40 atm with alot of unused perks, running with DB armor (haven't done TG quests yet) and ebony weaps. Dagger+paralyze, Dagger+Soulsteal for 1shot refills, Sword with paralyze, Bow with paralyze. 1handed dmg neckless+ring.

Planning to fix smithing, alchemy and enchanting next. First all to 100, then see what perks I need.

Cheers, keep up the good work and do share your thoughts about 1h+spell vs DW vs both.

One a second thought, this is just matter on the play style I guess. Wasn't meant to offend anyone or so. Dual wielding is really awesome in this game and I like it a lot, but I dunno, maybe it's just me. I always keep messing up my Fav key bindings and I hate when it happens and I need to "pause" the fight/game and go to set up what offhand weapon I need. Example, I start of with dual daggers, kill someone, get in the fight with 2 enemies, I "cc" one with illusion spell and then I want to go back to dual wield again, I can't. I need to manually put dagger in offhand all the time. Does it happening to anyone too? Maybe just need to wait for some equip manager mods =D

1H + spell is very viable. And I actually started out that way... but decided that I wanted to pursuit pure DW assassin type, with bow as backup.
The only thing that is really giving me grief is enemies that I cannot initial backstab, like dragons.

Yep true dat. Can be a bit of pain. I usually work alone, but if I have a companion it's ok, alot of bow shooting tho =).

But do you feel any "difference" in gameplay, going from 1h to DW? And do you regret any perks you've taken from 1handed tree? Like savage etc?

Thx again for answering
