Actor's voice work earns her $16,000 an hour

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 4:00 am

I've looked into this field a few times, because I have a deep voice and fully 1/2 of my female teachers have advised me to get a job in voice work (which, let me tell you, is creepy as all hell), from what I saw, those rates aren't typical. At all.

Not only that, but a game with a lot of dialog could be painful to play on an SD television since the text would have to be pretty big. Slow-scrolling text is maddening.
Oh, all those years of Gameboy RPGs and the endless button mashing to get through dialogue.

You only get this kind of money if your name is tied to something else. It's pretty unheard (not completely, I can think of a few exceptions) of for a true, blue voice actor to make this kind of money.

When making fun of two of my friends at the same time I say "The only people who get paid less than anthropology majors are voice actors"

Could any of you imagine if "Morgan Freeman" did voice acting in games!

They need to record that man talking about fishing and sell it. Ears love his voice.

If you don't know who he is.. Let's just hope you do... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000151/ God let's hope you know who he is.

I'll just become a Wes Johnson or Mel Blanc, have a whole game, and me being the one and only voice! Oh, Oblivion and Fallout 3, the days of basking in Johnsons' glory. That bastard must have been paid a lot for his extensive work...

Wow, sounds like the easiest career path in the world. Kudos to her parents for getting her involved so young. Now the whole family can be rich!

In other news...

Breslin said that she met Efron and it was a big deal. She said she even cried a little bit before she met him, as well as after meeting him.

... Oh. Dear. Me.
