When I have my copy in my Xbox and start it up. I'll make a judgement call on the graphics and not a minute sooner.

This guy is full of [censored]. Wherever he saw this video, it was a direct rip of the YT video that someone took and posted on their site. Still 360p compressed and upscaled to 720p.

They'll be a TON of footage in the next few days everywhere. I want to love this game but I think the game has been way overhype and will be a disappointment. But IMO this is bethesda's fault...too much hype and not enough gameplay on PC/PS3.

Personally, from the video, I thought that Skyrim looked awesome. Sure, the combat isn't incredibly realistic and intense and the graphics aren't jaw-dropping, but that's not what The Elder Scrolls is about. TES is about the open-world, freedom of choice and exploration of Bethesda's unique brand of RPG games.

Crysis is gorgeous, but it's multiplayer isn't as good as Battlefield or Call of Duty. Dawn of War 2 is graphically solid and tactical, but it lacks large-scale warfare that features in Total War. World of Warcraft is incredibly successful as an MMO but it's graphics svcks compared to many non-MMO games. No single game can be good at everything, it can only be good at what it's meant to be good at, and IMO, Skyrim is looking to be very successful at what it has aimed to achieve.

Oh right... of course I'm an elitist because I want something to look nice when I put out hundreds, if not thousands (for some), to have a game play and match what I paid for in computers.
No, thats not what your doing. Your constantly putting down the console. You didnt pay thousands of dollars to put down console, did you? And also, newsflash, did you see the PC specs? It is is obvious that the game wont look 100x times better on pc. Maybe a little better than console, but not amazingly better. The only hope you have is that someone makes another graphical mod for Skyrim, which im sure someone will, so lucky you. And seriously, stop complaining. The footage was NOT in HD. It was crappy quality. 720p doesnt mean its gonna magically change the fact that the footage was recorded from the TV with a hand cam. Another thing, i have learned that EVEN HD videos of games dont represent graphics how they will actually look on your screen. I was extremely dissapointed when i saw Battlefield 3 footage for the PS3. But when i bought it and played on my TV, i j.i.z.z.e.d my pants because of how amazing it looked. So yeah.

The footage is pretty close to 720p (yt standards) and from what I saw the character models were great but some of the textures (walls and ground) were.... lacking. Some of the walls were pretty bad but I dont play ES for pretty walls. The gameplay looks great.

Overhyped? How so? Bethesda has been showing as little as possible. They've shown the same demo from the start, first as a trailer, than as a close-door press demonstration, than as a public demonstration, then as a playable press demo and than as a public demo. In terms of features they havent mentioned anything ''out there'' either. They've mentioned a same amount of guilds, perks as improvement to the combat, etc but nothing hype generating.

People are just hyped because it is the nexr Elder Scrolls. It's 200+ hours of openworld RPG gameplay. I don't think Bethesda is to blame. Showing the 360 version only helped keep people down to earth. Had they shown the PC version on maxed out machines than people's expectations would have skyrocked unfairly. Now I think people are as hyped as they should be about Skyrim.

Yes, but I'm pretty sure WoW is the most successful one, and it's certainly not on the list of "awesome looking MMOs". What it lacks in graphics, it makes up for in gameplay.

well id have to say the video footage had been rescaled at some point. there is alot of dithering around some edges and a bit of compression loss.
it is certainly better quality than has been seen in previous leak footage but it certainly isnt a tru representation of the final quality in any way shape or form.
if i was to bite the bullet id say its lost a good third of the original quality staright from the xbox..and then we have to figure in the fact that the original capture might not have been made in fullHD anyway...so chances are we have lost alot of quality along the way!
i dont think anyone will have anything to worry about come release day!

If it was done from a recorder, that was an extremely steady cam. I'm pretty damn sure it was recorded via the actual TV itself, as some have said ability to do so and can transfer to computer, etc.

its been taken down anyway!
that wasnt cam footage but by the same token it wasnt full 720HD either. the compression losses around the edges were awful!

I'm pretty sure the video made it look crapper than it is. I also think the kill animations are pretty awful, haha.

And yet, it still looked awesome. :)

Ah, glad you got it. Sometimes it takes this site forever to actually notify me of a response. -_-

Either way, like I said in my first post, maybe I'm being too picky, but there were a lot of things that didn't look as crisp as they should have been, Even the armour looked kinda tacked on. The guy you follow has chainmail and maybe I imagined it dangling a bit more instead of clinging to his body so tightly. Note: I have worn actual chainmail. Either way, it just didn't take my breath away. I'll still play it, but the hype for it has dwindled.

Whilst we are fairly tolerant of these discussions of the leaked footage when it comes to asking for and receiving links via our PM system we draw the line.
