Disapointment - PLZ fix soon

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 1:36 pm

I am very disapointed, not in the game and its content, but in the buggy release. Bethesda and ID have both been in the industry for a fair amount of time, ID for a LONG time. I expected some small bugs here and there, its almost impossible to launch bug free. But this? This is unacceptable. ID are veterans of the Gaming industry with a large emphasis and great impact on PC gaming. This is not there 1st go round here. I am almost speechless........almost.

Im not bashing the game, i bet its great, when its playable. I simply do not understand how a company can release a game in this condition. Theres is absolutely no way ID or Bethesda could have not seen this. Unless of course the game was compiled and labled and shipped all the while nobody dev side bothered to test the final product, which i HIGHLY doubt. I would have rather waited another week, even a month, to get a polished product. This is bound to hurt sales marginally, and if not this go round, then for future games released, as people will have low expectations.

The only thing we can do now is wait for a fix. At least allow the end user to pick and choose the graphic options they choose to use. PC gamers are almost ALL enthusiasts. Regardless of how old or new our hardware is, we know what our system can handle because we are the Marines of gaming, few and proud, and we take our gaming seriously. Consoles are great and I own a 360 and PS3 respectfully, but I also own one down right beast of a computer because when a game which promises the likes of RAGE is slated to hit the market, I want to experience the cutting edge. Sadly I wont have that chance tonight.

I sincerely hope the developers are working hard at fixing this right now. I spent 60 hard earned dollars on a product that has yet to deliver. If they get it fixed soon then they can save at least one, but surely countless fans, from feeling like they made a bad investment.

I also agree, but not everyone just like you keeps his hardware stable and unquestionable at the performance side. I think about ppl who buy 1k $ rigs and dont even got a clue about fragmentation on disks or how to make separated partitions.

Than they come here and moan like children would beneath the Xmas Tree if one finds out he couldnt ride it at once. OFC blame on the parents!

Dont buy expensive hardware if u cant handle it, go buy a console instead imo. Am talkin in general not especially to you, OP.

No, to what you are saying I also agree, PC gaming can be a pain if one isnt very computer litterate. Consoles are much easier to develop games for as well, seeing as the harware for each respective console is all the same. Computers are finicky things to dev for becuase everyone has different components (PC anyhow) and the game must be compatible with a range of hardware. So in some respect I almost feel for ID, becuase its not an easy task, but on another I never would have expected a company with such reputable talent and experience to have a problem so widely affect its end users. So simply to clarify and also to keep this post from getting too far off topic, consoles are great, and I love that it brings games to such a diverse market for the hardcoe, the casual, and the family style of gamer.

On the PC however, dynamic scaling of graphics cant work well becuase of the diversity in hardware. It is better to let the game "recommend" settings that it predicts you will have the best performance at "based" on your setup and let the user scale up or down depending on what their in game experience is. If a game recommends you play with settings on high and you begin to have performance issues you can then scale them down till you can play at a level that is comfortable for you. Or a complete opposite senario where your PC happens to be able to handle more than whats recommended.

I know many people may not get into tweaking there settings but I personally think that the majority would very much like the option at least.
