@Vitalsine: It should not be necessary to purchase new hard/software if one's PC meets the requirements. Since you're not having any problems, telling others as much and that they need to get new equipment isn't exactly helping them with their issues.
Not saying that is the case with anyone here, but if that is the case, please think before you speak.
I specifically said that to people who DO have crap computers. It was not directed towards the entire forum. In the case of sblantipodi, I dont understand how that system is having problems. One trending problem I have noticed is that people don't know how to update their video cards and/or change/force settings through their control panel. That is their own issue for not knowing what to do. Why would you buy a $500+ video card and not know how to use it in and out? From my experience AMD and nVidia combo rocks this world. I haven't had an issue with a game in months since building my new rig. Any and all issues that I have seen/heard were fixable on the client side. That's what I was really trying to get at.
Just to let you all know, this is all I am running atm...
AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition (3.7ghz dual core, overclocked to 4.2ghz)
nVidia GeForce GTX 460 (overclocked big time)
4GB of OCZ gold plated ram (own 16 gb worth but have extra in my backup machine)
Western Digital 1TB @7200RPM 3gb/s
everything is liquid cooled, as well as the cpu having its own independent cooler. at max stress i run around 35-50 celsius.
I think that is all that should matter? It runs flawless on my end. SUPER fast. Looks amazing. Again... AMD + nVidia FTW
