Something good to stick in my ear?

Since you didn't specify budget...

I have a pair of Bose IE2. Great sound. For headphones (which I prefer at the desk) go with Bose QuiteComfort. For budget try Koss PortaPro. They're not the most durable brand for mobile use (and you'll look [censored] wearing them), but excellent sound quality.

unzips pants

Great. BGSF inspires autoerotic. Good job OP, you have with words relegated the ear to a uaginal surrogate.

Its Family Guy all over again. :bolt:
Or, if you're feeling particularly disturbed, F.A.T.A.L.

Spoiler
You probably wouldn't want the explanation. And I'm not sure I'd be allowed to give it in this forum, either.

budget: $30 or less

I have a decent pair of USB 5.1 Headphones for at my desk. I just need something for this..

since it needs headphones for the radio to work (and the built-in speaker is weak to boot)

Believe me, that wasn't my intent

I've never used them, but I think the main reason Dre Beats piss off audiophiles so much isn't because they sound bad - it's because they cost 5x as much as headphones that sound the same. So, therefore, if you spent what you would on Dre Beats, but got some Sennheisers or Audio Technica (sp?) you would get that much better audio, but unfortunately you wouldn't be in style, according to high school kids.

Personally I think they sound worse, at least for stuff like rock music. The bass enhancement is just too high, so all the songs sound distorted. There is a way to help this (putting the equaliser on Reduced Bass) but for £100 odd I'd expect the headphones to sound actually good, rather than just rely on bass. i have a pair of headphones (not sure of the brand, got them with my iPad, not Apple ones) which sound better and they are more comfier than the Dre Beats. One thing I like about Beats though is the non-tangle wire.

I thought you's were talking about cotton buds and not headphones, I thought this places was a little weird but thankfully Google saved the day :P
Walking around with a cotton bud in your ear would get sore as well

For $30, check out the $15-$30 category here:

My personal recommendation...http://www.amazon.com/MEElectronics-M6-BK-Sport-Sound-Isolating-Headphones/dp/B0038W0K2K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1330428178&sr=8-2 or http://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-Beta-Noise-Isolating-Headphones/dp/B005IF3CE8/ref=pd_cp_e_0 or the Sennheiser CX250 if you can find one. Avoid the CX300.

I actually have all three and they all sound great, but I do favor the Brainwavz over the other two. It's a well rounded earbud for the sound and the soundstage and treble clarity is damn nice.

I have a logitech G35 nowhere near descreet but the audio quality is great and the mic it has is nice.

Be warned, they're bulkier than a car from the 50's.

I tried Skullcandy headphones out for a while but I really didn't like them and ended up selling them to my friend.

The quality wasn't great, the volume didn't go up high enough, and the cable was too short Q_Q

I now have Razer and I like them, but if you're looking for something to walk around with, gaming headphones probably aren't the way to go.

Oh man I can't STAND in-ear earphones. The http://www.jbhifi.co.nz/images/sony-entry-level-stereo-earphones-sku-20926-large.gif thing is just awful and I'll never understand why it's so popular.

I would recommend Razer Orca. Sound is great, Bass is great, very comfortable. The color is a bit weird, but overall great headphones.

I use Bose over ear headphones and I really like them, I have a hard time wearing in ear buds, they fall out. Sennheiser is good too though, my manager uses them and they're a bit cheaper. Bose are pretty expensive, kind of like the Alienware of sound product, but they do work good.

Both make in ear headphones, so you could check them out. Sennheiser's run about $40-$100. Bose is a little more expensive than that.

I am not fond of silicone ones like that either.

The proper foam ones like ear plugs are good though. Especially since my daily commute includes a boat filled with snoring guys,

They're small and reduce outside noise.
