Bethesda Acknowledges & Is Working On Texture Issues

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 7:43 am

Better yet, if the menu is causing it, then why are people running from the disc not getting it? It only seems to happen to those who install.

plz read OP and link. its not an instal prob.

His point still stands. If it is NOT an install issue, then why have all the reports been in cases where the game was installed?

Either (a) there are way more people that install than play from disk, or (B) while the issue may not be caused by installing, installing could make it much more likely to occur.

If the menu really is causing it, why isn't it happening to every person playing the game?

Maybe they aren't noticing it?

Maybe it's not that frequent or re-occurring?

Maybe it depends on which XB360 model you are using?

I think the latter is the most likely. I've seen the comparison pics, and you would have to be blind as a bat not to notice it if it's happening.

I tried to start a thread for reports on the third point, but no one responded.

I've seen one person with an original Xbox talking about installing the game and not getting the effect. I've seen a number of posts from people that have Slims that have been having the problem. But not enough data to make a solid conclusion about it.

After reading some threads about this issue, the best we 360 users can hope for is that Bethesda releases another patch between 11/11 and 11/12, or sometime very soon in the near future. If I encounter the issue tonight (which I have a feeling I will), I'll just do whats recommended, reload back from main menu and/or clear cache.

Until Bethesda patches this issue, I'll just continue to tell myself: "Just pretend the textures are a continuation of Morrowind's, and everyone's totally digging it  ".

The problem with releasing another patch soon is Microsoft's certification system. Even if Bethesda finds the problem quickly and does another patch immediately it will take at least a week before Microsoft will release it.

If its bad enough they can rush the patch into circulation faster then that.

New Vegas anyone?

But is the problem bad enough for that? The fact that it technically has no effect on actual gameplay leads me to believe it's not.

its debatable.

Because if it is as widespread and prevalent as this is seeming and causing such a bad PR onto the game and system?

Seems likely to me they will want to address it ASAP in order to quell that. Microsoft seems to have worked out too many deals on this to let it take a shot.

This is exactly what I meant in my post. I am aware that Gstaff said it is not an install issue, but yet, it only happens to people who have the game installed.

Has anybody reported it happening with the game NOT installed (just running straight from the disc)?

The holidays are here people. Expect a patch ASAP. They won't want to get to the week before thanksgiving before releasing a patch. That's when the holiday shopping rush begins. Believe that...and expect microsoft to instantly approve a patch. Remember that this issue is also making them look bad.

Yes, there are multiple reports of this all over the internet.

If it does have something to do w/ HDD or it doesn't- Just install the game.
I think we can wait it out until they fix the bug.

I highly doubt anyone's xbox will be able to run skyrim for a long period of time and not burn out in some form or another. It's just safer to install it.
