BiowareEA Recurring Fiascoes

It's a big company with a diverse fanbase. There will never be a game either company releases that 100% of the fanbase will be pleased with. The gaming community are naturally a bunch of divas.

It sounds more and more like that ME3 will be little more than a cash cow with great facade to impress the reviewers but in the end little more than Dragon Age 2 - IN SPACE!
This why I am waiting for reviews or until it drops to bargain prices (£6-7) in sales as I so want to see how it all ends

Then there's Origin. The real final boss of the Internet.

So, who can't stand to play Bioware's games, yet still has a justification for why these sales practices are perfectly acceptable? Other than "I don't like them, doesn't affect me, so it's fine", of course.

Oh TB, you silly person. This is the one time I think we have to agree to disagree.

Okay so they might not lost their jobs. Fair point, but then again this isn't their AAAA developer who developed an MMO which is an ONGOING SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE. So naturally there's more likely of them laying off on smaller game slike Mass Effect with in their eyes a less talented team, and for certain it only needs minimal support going forward. No one is expecting vast content expansions + years down the line larger than the game. So he has a valid point, and not a valid point at the same time. Two different types of teams on two different games. Maybe EA will lay them off, maybe it wont. It just has to be considered.

We should be criticizing them, and other companies who do that lay off thing. It's an industry problem. So you can't cop out that easily, it's a problem slowly gaining traction at being brought into the light.

Multiplayer does replace Zaeed though, they need some kind of system to make sure people have an incentive not to pirate. There it is. You can whine all you like and feel you should deserve more, but at the end of the day they do not owe you a thing. You never ever once in your lives got free DLC. It was all payed for in advance when you bought a new copy. That was that games agreement not this one. it's not like him to miss a glaringly obvious point. I guess in his fan boy rage he doesn't exactly want to think about that. You also payed for the other "free" DLC. It was just a simple way to lock down that content from pirates. Nothing more.

It has been developed just before development. You only have so much budget to go around. He makes it sound critical to the game, I can confirm it isn't. They move their teams onto a separate project when they're done. They put in time outside the development needed for the main game. He can go whine all he wants about it needing to be there, but it doesn't change the fact it was developed outside of Mass Effect 3's time, budget, and team. They used the same team technically, but not before they were done with their ME3 work. It's like wanting water to be gravy, sometimes you just have to accept the facts of life here. The evidence from two different sources one is the developer who gave us this chart. The other is Bioware stating that this is how they operate before this chart was leaked. The evidence is pretty damning to his wild claims. It's a source form Bioware backed up by a third party. Now if it was discovered this third party was a Bioware employee we might have a conflict of interest. As is? He's just blowing hot air.

It's not price gouging, it's not needed for the base game. It's been fairly given a price. Kasumi came with less content and no one worried or cried over her. With this you get a Squad Mate, Mission, Weapon, and Skin for all characters in the game. For the same price. So if anything they've given you more, not much but a little bit. Again just his hot air at confusing or misleading the facts.

Day 1 DLC is a minority for these groups because EA is gigantic and has the resources to pull it off, and keeps to deadlines. I'm sure if the companies had ways of hiring more people to make more content that would all get bought they would all be doing the same thing. Trying to make money and use their time wisely without wasting any of it.

Finally he ends upon an ironic note by being a white-knight zealot unable to listen to reason. People (the smart ones) have never claimed EA is good. Only justified. Neutral if you will. Out to make money, and not even doing anything particularly bad. Now if you needed a DLC to access a hub world in the game and it had quests on it that you couldn't get to and it was available day 1. THAT is cutting content and price gouging. It's also illegal as far as I'm aware.

Another ironic note as he encourages zealous feelings in his own legions of fans. We find out he [censored] like the rest of us basically. Some rhetoric spin about murder to really rile the masses.

"If it's done before release, it should be in the game." translating 98% probability "I'm but hurt that they're legitimately making business, and feel like I should get something extra." 2% probability "Raaaggggeeee!!!"

Want to know what would happen if I told him all of this? Nothing, because he doesn't want people to see it. He isn't a fair and unbiased source of news. He's out there trying to spread his own goals. Normally I have a great deal of respect for him, but this time? None at all.

Edit
Why do you think he didn't do a follow up show? Because it would expose too much people to his counter argument which is pretty weak. Then he would have to deal with the backlash. Oh wait, no he wouldn't have to deal with backlash. People are too dumb to see the facts in front of them. :( I feel sorry for EA the most though. Normally so evil and hostile to the games industry. They haven't done anything this time. And everyone's out for blood. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGBQf8WqwZ0

It's seemed like a little of a overreaction (Five Threads about Tax Moneys on a Internet Petition that probably will not even reach the Parliament if anolysed first) but the extremely unhelpful and the blatant lies from that so-called "moderator" (Really, who believed that he couldn't access the page?) show how those companies are.

I had a few run-ins with Stanley Woo. As a moderator, he's not much good. None of the moderators over there were.

The company responsible for the marketing is http://www.mischiefpr.com/#news/2012/02/23/is-there-anyone-thing-out-there. I'd fire these idiots.

There are also bandwidth, upkeep and server costs. However small the cost, that's money that could go to something else, which is now going toward marketing ME3 -- and everybody in the UK is paying for it. There is something very wrong with the concept of an entire country (the UK) paying for a(n American) company's marketing efforts.
