Dylan Moran and Billy Connolly

There have been many I've liked over the years, but these are the ones I never get tired hearing from.

I was wondering what people like about George Carlin's standup. I watched three specials of him and all I got was a few chuckles. Plus it seemed to me he was just ranting whenever he talked politics or religion these were to me the unfunny parts of standup.
It's his no-bullcrap attitude, the blunt, unbridled vitriol he aims at life's stupid idiosyncrasies. Watch his "People are [censored] boring!" clip, if you can find it on Youtube - I think he got funnier as he got older.

I admit I got a few more chuckles then usually get when I see his standup, but it never made me laugh out loud. Thanks for the answer about him I may not find him funny, but at least I got my answer why some people might find him funny.

Whenever I see see standup on Comedy central most can make me laugh.

There are a few I really like but forget their names sadly.

George Carlin is just a grumpy old ass, and thats why he is hilarious.
Stephen Lynch has some great songs.
-I need to do some photo research, anyone know a good popular comedian list with their pictures?

I agree. George is my all time favorite.

And since I've seen people here listing them, I'll throw in Monty Python guys as a collective group.

Lol, I'm a Dean Martin fan boy. His voice, his dress, his hair, his personality. It all screams his nickname, 'The King of Cool'. :disguise:

George Carlin is just a grumpy old ass, and thats why he is hilarious.

He isn't just grumpy though, it comes from a very insightful place, at least in my opinion.

George Carlin and Robin Williams for me, at least in a stand up aspect. Comedy writing would have a few more on the list.

If you are interested...this is an excellent bit from Robin Williams:
