If XMB settings change RAM usage (only slightly), you could experience crashing if the system doesn't have enough memory to load the specific content. Personally, my XMB is normal, with no changes other than maybe color. IMHO, this is probably something to consider. My game runs, mostly, fine. I've had 1 forced restart where the game froze on a load screen, and a few graphical anomalies. Other than that, it's running quite well. Also, I did not install the day one patch. So it's running whatever is on the Disk. (Going to wait for another patch, the first one seems problematic.)
