Cool. So we're at the point that good coop games don't need microphones. At least you don't need to worry about them being a requirement anymore.

Mounted Combat.
Character skills working properly in a player skill based combat system.
Large scale battles in First/Third person viewpoint.
Economy system
disposition/faction system.

That's what I could name from the top of my mind.
Ahh but you are ignoring the context.... portal 2 only works like that because its slow, and you get to sit around planning things out... a Elder Scrolls MMO doesn't pause its enemies to wait for you. Different situation in their entirety.

Also I dont think Mount and Blade did any of those things first

WoW doesn't pause the enemies to wait for you either. Or are you implying that a pseudo-turn based combat system requires less cooperation?

I don't think Portal did portals, or 3D puzzles first, but it is innovative. Making something new using known ideas can be an original.

Does a third person game require less cooperation then a first person game? Yes, field of View is everything.

Also I dont think Portal was that innovative myself, Nebacular drop was the inspiration for it.

Meh, you can get used to not seeing everything on the screen, or set the FOV over 100.
Then it's basically the same.

I do think Portal was innovative. They used an idea (their own idea basically) and built something playable and accessible with it.

That's what I think Zenimax Online should be doing.

Setting FoV to 100 =/= a view size even remotely close to that of third person view, to say they are similar is...... just wrong.

Hell 100 FoV is less then a human's normal FoV.

100 =/= 360

Doesn't matter. A game built knowing that the player possibly doesn't see everything can work just as well as a game that builds upon third person view.
They play differently though.

We can have third person and first person in a game anyway. Then to each to their own.
