So I should extract the textures from the BSA file into a folder, then add mods to that folder? What do I do with the BSA do I delete it?
This is for extracting textures to MAKE a mod:Don't delete the BSA, that has every single texture used in the game.
If you use the BSA browser built into FOMM, you can pick specific 'branches' of textures, instead of extracting every single one of them,
then, when it comes time to extract, FOMM will ask where you want to extract them, point FOMM to your SkyRim Data folder, and it will create a textures folder (if you're extracting textures) and it will make a meshes folder (if you're extracting meshes), it will keep the directory structure intact automatically.
SO if you extracted some armor the path might be Data\textures\armor\DBArmor\ etc...then if you edit that texture, the game engine 'should' use the extracted texture and override the one in the BSA
This part is for INSTALLING a texture mod by handIf you're installing an already made mod, then you should be able to extract it to the Data folder, because the modder should have the directory structure set up properly in the rar or zip file.
The extracted texture will OVERRIDE the texture used in the BSA.
Was confused on whether you were installing a mod, or making one.....
