I was toying with the idea of making a guild based around the Buoyant Armigers or even making a brand new Dunmer Great House from scratch, making it as lore appropriate as possible. I definitely plan on playing on an RP server.

Actually, if there are any future EU Dunmer players who have any similar ideas, feel free to drop me a PM.

would it be cheesy to make a ro guild called "Sons of Skyrim" and have it be an all nord rp guild?

Not at all! I hope to see plenty of racially specific RP guilds. Sotha's Dunmer one sounds cool as well. After my aforementioned Redguard, a Dunmer would probably be my second character.

I'd rather you not advertise your guild in here, this topic is about The Merchants Legion and The Royal Guard.
From what I understand, it starts off hostile, but becomes friendly to the dominant faction (and maybe all) once it has been successfully 'conquered' throughout the PvP zone.
I really hope so, that might actually work into the Roleplaying, the past protector has failed and lost the city, it is now our duty to regain or alliance with another group to regain what was once lost.

Later tonight I'll be going into full detail with The Royal Guard, ranks, permissions, what we do, where we will station, lockdown codes, rules, and more.

Check the IGN wiki. They have some more information on what the Imperials are currently doing. In my opinion, if there is no neutrality in the game, starting out with a guild in the Daggerfall Covenant you'll get the best feeling for the empire. Involving some Akavari history will also do it good. A good name you could go for as well is the 'Colovian Estates', but that's just my opinion. The Colovian Estates have threatened the northern bosmer and the skyrim very recently in an attempt to reconquer them, only to be rebuffed. The imperials have made an allegiance with the Tharn Family and the wizard Mannimarco the King of Worms. Molag Bal has allegiances in the background, however, so some corruption in the guard would be nice to see.

I will definately be making a pro-House Telvanni guild; somewhat of a personal extension of the house. All hail mage-roleplay, forever!

Maybe in "time of need" the RP guilds could come together.

This would be a crisis situation only, of course.

Remember when you start a guild, you start an association. And a association needs articles of association and a mission statement. Now, the mission statement is strictly OOC. So is the union and so are the articles of association. So, your mission statement isn't going to be 'we defend the emperor at all costs'. It can't be. It's like you start an association for LARP and give as a mission statement 'we fight to seek out and defeat evil'. An association is serious business; people come together with a common purpose and goal. Depending on what you wish to provide, pick your audience well and fit the mission statement to it or the exact opposite route. Doesn't matter, get it to paper and you'll have a tremendous amount of clarity.

Examples of mission statements;
"Our guild wishes to explore realistically deviced simulations in the TES setting, to allow our members to grow their understanding of social relations and psychology."
"Our guild wishes to create an environment where our members' creativity with character design and literature are stimulated."
etc.

Comonna Tong: a criminal empire that got little to no recognition in both Oblivion and Morrowind, but with a great backstory. Every member would have to be dark elf... but it would be so cool... slave trading, skooma, moonsugar.... haha

I have a few RolePlaying guild ideas for The Elder Scrolls:Online and I'd love to get some input. If your not a roleplayer or don't like roleplaying stay away.

The Merchants Legion (looking for a better name)

Count me in, I've always wanted to be a trader in Tamriel, it has been a dream of mine since the first time I tried bartering in TES...

Seeing the Khajiit traders in Skyrim just made me more envious, and seeing the potential of TES O, I'm really excited about this!
