Enchanting NPC's need to come back.

*Ug, wrong board*

I just think it is stupid that all combat characters are pretty much running around with the Enchanting skill because of how much it improves melee damage.

Stupid things about Enchanting:

1. It's a magic skill and there is nothing in the tree specifically for mages.
2. It's dumb that you can't roleplay a Berserker/Warrior that is a brute if you want the best damage possible. Every warrior is essentially a Combat/Mage hybrid.

Enchanter Npcs would do this:

1. Open up many roleplaying opportunities that were available in past games.
2. Give players something to spend their money on.

I respect that the trees should be useful to many character builds but there needs to be a way to get similar services for roleplay reasons. Enchanters can still be the best at it and should have some unique features. Maybe add just the combat/universal, and weaker magic enchants to NPC enchanters. Powerful magic enhancing enchants should be the specialty of high level mage enchanters.

They pulled a lot of stuff we've come to associate as standard in TES games and I don't get why. There was never any explanation offered really. I miss a lot of the old things. It's starting to feel more like an action FPS (first person sword) game set in fantasy medieval times rather than a fantasy medieval RPG.

Do they really need to explain everything they do?

The Lab stations do the same thing-and they are in not just towns, but in the middle of dungeons too.

Um, that wasn't really the point I was trying to make, nor was it even the main theme in my post... Your response seemed a bit trollish.

My understanding of the OP's remarks is that they feel enchanting is already too open to everyone. Basically they removed the NPCs and the usual "must be in this guild and of this rank" in order to access the stuff, and replaced it with "everybody can do it anytime, anywhere" with no special benefit to magic users. I didn't even know they were available in dungeons too. Bleh.

um so u are saying because they are accessable to every1 that u ahve to use them?

i think some personal restraint helps!

my warrior doesnt use any magic wat so ever not to heal not to enchant nothing!
being a warrior and not using magic is dam hard but thats the way i want it to be.
he doesnt pik flowers like a pansie either!

my mage doesnt get any perks in melee either
he uses enchanting alchemy and magic

u are saying that u can only create hybrids??
well seems "YOU" can only crate hybrids i can create any character i desire!

just because the option is ther doenst mean u have to use it...
its not like its multiplayer where every1 is cheating against u or sumthing!

Adding more NPC services would be good.

We can buy weapons/armor and potions from NPCs would be cool if you could pay an NPC to enchant items for you, using their skill and knowledge rather than your own.
