Okay, so I'll concentrate on what we saw about the Imperial Legion in the new video by Bethesda, "http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fn0N294NFy0".

In one scene, we saw General Tullius arguing with the Legate. The Legate is a female and is a Nord according to what I've read.

Legate: You don't think this is a war already? Sir, I...

General Tullius: Thank you Legate. In the future, I'll let you know when your opinion is needed.

In another scene, the Legate comments on the situation while General Tullius looks down on the map.

"Skyrim needs the Empire as much as it needs us." "It" may refer to Skyrim and "us" may refer to the Legion. Or maybe "it" may refer to the Empire and "us" refer to Skyrim, since the Legion is in Skyrim.

What do you think these lines could mean? My opinions: The General maybe doesn't treat the Stormcloak Rebellion as a full scale war. The Legate seems to believe that Skyrim needs the Empire and perhaps the Legion as well.

The general is trying to be a moderate voice is my wager. The Legate may be requesting the use of greater force, while he is holding back hoping to win the war while keeping Skyrim intact.

Interesting and good point. There seems to be more forceful Imperial Legionaries and more reserved/cautious ones (in terms of their views on the war), like Hadvar vs Captain and now General vs Legate.

I take this to mean - "Skyrim needs the Empire as much as the Empire needs Skyrim."

I initially thought it should mean this as well, but then "it" might refer to Skyrim and "us" refer to the Legion. What you said might be very possible though. If that's what it means, it casts the Legate at the very least, in a good light in my eyes. It's good if the Empire realises the value of Skyrim.

Ehh, I think that's off. I read it as "Skyrim needs the Empire as much as the Empire needs you and I (Tullius and the Legate)"

Lot's of ways to interpret this line really. I don't know how we'll find out unless the General responds to it or we find out what she said before she says that line. Or maybe I'm just not good enough at English.
