People talking about the texture glitch.

Apparently this is recieving a fix, but I just wanted to ask the community here who install their xbox games if they have seen texture issues with other titles on the 360? I reported this to microsoft way back when the feature was first implemented. I noticed that when installing my games, that sometimes textures didn't load up and were low res and very blurry, where when played by the disc, my 360 games were fine. It seems the installation software has always been twitchy with the 360. Anybody else noticed? Oblivion had the same problem, where the once nice wooden doors sometimes loaded up looking like a slab of soft mud. Red Dead Redemption suffered this too, where buildings looked like the Nintendo 64.

I never install games to the harddrive. It's a horribly implemented feature that serves no purpose other than breaking games and speeding up load times by 3 seconds. You still need the disk so I don't see the point.

I had to uninstall ME2 when I realized saving it to my harddrive had been causing the game to crash every time I tried to import an ME1 playthrough.

Yea I saw this several times in red dead, I actually bought the digital copy right from XBL. Usually i go back to xbl and clear cache then reboot seems to resolve the issue. I have noticed this issue once in skyrim out of 50+ hours playing the game. I originally installed my copy and at some random point I walked into whiterun and the ground magically disapeared lol...walked in and out of the area and the problem was gone. Anyway read on some message boards not to install so I deleted my local copy until the next patch, cleared the cache, reboot and havent seen the problem since.

Also I seem to notice 90% of the weird stuff (ie levitating mammoths, draw lower res textures) seem to be more prominent over the plains in white run hold...not sure why but that's where I see the most issues.

Honestly I think the Xbox 360 is starting to see its years technically...devs such as bethesda, infinityward are really starting to hit the maximum peak this hardware can handle. The intensive graphics applications are only going to get MORE intensive by moores law. It's time for upgraded hardware.

I always install the games in my rotation and then uninstall when I no longer need them. I have never noticed a problem with either of the 360's that I have (a 60GB Pro and a 250GB S), but maybe I will test it out...this would be an opportunity if not for the graphical glitches associated with installing the game. Initially my intention was to install Skyrim, but then after hearing of these issues, I never bothered to install it...once fixed, I will definitely take note of the differences...pre/post install...

Thanks for your response. Microsoft didn't seem to acknowledge any problem with the installation feature. I have seen this in too many games, where the textures fail to load properly when installed.
