Espacially because, the voiceacting in other than the original version doesn't have so much depth. Example german: there are only a view voiceactors for a lot of npc and most of the voice acting sounds quite boring (also i recognized a lot of them from the gothic series wich had the same problem). From what i read the english voice acting is much better with different accents and some emotions. So what a lot of the EU player now get by buying the EU version is a worse product for the same price.

So pls add a language pack to the PSN shop!

right now i'm thinking about importing a UK version and sell the EU to a second hand dealer. Is it possible to load my EU savegames with the UK version?

Hi, I'm French. I received my game today and I am shocked by the decision to not include the english version in the European version. After the bloodgrass glitch never fixed in Oblivion, the broken game that was Fallout : New Vegas, can we expect Bethesda, this time, to do things the right way and propose an english language pack for the EU version of Skyrim ?


If not, could you, at least, let us know that it will never happen ?

Me, looking forward to get home and play. Game starts in French(!!!) - Now, i don't speak French, neither German (the country i'm in).

So stop fixing bugs and glitches for people that can at least play the game! Fix the language for us that can't even use it!

Xbox user here. What a disgrace. - I paid €69, and only get the game in French? Nearly all companies include English with their releases.

Please release a (free) language pack.

Received my copy yesterday (Collectors Edition). Great game, and luckily for me in English.
This however is good for me, but NOT for the rest of Europe! Fix this [censored] Bethesda!

I think they did it to reduce imports of low-cost English games in the continental Europe market (they're usually around 20 euros cheaper, for some reason).

What I find absurd is that I cannot choose the language for subtitles in game. I'm Italian and I'd like to play with my francophone girlfriend, and it would make it very easy for both to have voice in one language and subtitles in the other. Both languages are in the disk, but not selectable in game...

Something like this was probably the idea behind this. But it seems thy didn't think this really through as all it does is encourage cheap imports

Other developers did the same but with more logic. For example with Uncharted, the UK Version has only English but no other languages so that it is less attractive to import for those, who prefer to play in their native language. While the EU Version has all available languages, English included as there is no need to make the EU version less attractive.
This makes sense.
But a split like this is only stupid. I wanted the Collector's Edition in English, would have paid 150€ if I had bought it here, but without English included I imported the US version and paid 20€ less.

So if I live in Sweden I'm [censored]?

In Sweden they most likely just sell the UK version (probable with a Swedish manual) since the EU Version doesn't support Swedish.
Screwed are those countries that get the EU version which should be all that speak either French, German, Italian or Spanish.

Puh!, though the game seems to be kind of a failure on other parts as well (the lag issue). guess ill have to wait before i buy it and see if it ever gets fixed :/

I don't find this a good solution as well, it's like they want to screw up UK customers (which receives a crippled copy respect to the rest of Europe, and have less chance to resell it).
Anyway AT LEAST videogames should display which language are supported on the cover, like DVD does.

Based on experience, do you guys think that Bethesda will care resolve this Euro-language issue? Or should I just sell my French version on ebay and order the UK or US version? I wouldn't mind waiting a few weeks, but I doubt that Bethesda will resolve this...

doubt it, but now that i'm half way through i probably gonna stick to the german version and be wiser in the future to preorder a uk import instead of getting it from my local games dealer.

There is nothing they can do about it besides exchanging your game.

That is simply not true. It doesn't matter if the speech-files are on a disk or available on the Internet. They could simply put a free dlc-language pack online. Additionally an option to set the language in the settings ... et voila, problem solved.

I don't like this solution either. But at least it makes from a publisher's perspective sense. A split like with Skyrim doesn't.
Agreed, developers should at least inform their customers which languages are included that you know which version to buy.


No, I wouldn't expect so. They probably don't even see this as an issue.
With Rage it was the same. No English included never got a fix or a statement to this issue.

We want to play the game on its original language. We already bought the game and i am not going to play it till its English.

Why should we have to order from another country?

Bethesda, this is not a good practice for a customer oriented company. Please solve this issue, this is absurd.
