Ahem... No patch still?

holiday is over - where is a mention of update 2. We shouldn't have to troll twitter pages to stumble across a mention of the next patch. Blame ATI, I don't care. But communicate something. ANYTHING.

12.1a actually made my game run worse and broke my CCC again.

When will amd actually get good drivers?

Might as well system restore back to my older drivers that actually worked.

Installing. (First, UN-installing - gotta be clean with the procedure)
I'll check back in.
(i7 930 @ 3.78// 6gb @ 1444//5770 CF w7 x64)

UPDATE: 12.1a works fine. It seems helped the vsync function. Not to add to the confusion with vsync, (and I know this will be a bit strange) but as you know the new amd drivers have built in application profiles, so I have selected "off unless application specifies" for rage.exe and then I selected 'off' in-game. Surprisingly, vsync is still on (fps maxes at 60) but CF ghosting is improved. At first I had smart-vsync enabled (which wasn't even possible with past drivers) and it was creating micro stuttering and the dual gpu ghosting was worse as a result. Again, I know it is wierd that I have stated that vsync is off everywhere but still is somehow 'on' in the game. All I can say is that it looks good, and no stuttering (CF ghosting is present but this is something we dual gpu people will always have). I have recently installed this OS so everything is fresh. No modded .cfg files and strangely adding a cache file/folder for Rage in the users/***/local/id software/rage folder made no difference for me (I had forgot to do this after clean install of w7 and Rage so I got lucky that I could test everything with and without). There is still lag with heavy texture loading (the texture pop is super minimal but it costs a temporary 10-15 fps while the new textures are loaded). This can be fixed by lowering the vt_maxPPF but it is a trade off between fps lag and texture pop. It's one or the other.

@C-Murder, glad to see that update helps.
Too bad I beat the game twice already, and it's no longer fun :(
Game has run fine for me since day 1 (of purchase, not relase), on my lower-end PC. I got rid of texture pop through the online cfg maker, so the graphics were just fine. Of course, my cheap card crashes after it can't handle any more... so I usually remove the cfg

60 Hz is the update speed of the game, so if it goes above it, the actual game runs faster as in fast-forwarding. That's why it's capped.
