To all the PURE mages

There's a mod out there that increases the max rune number to as high as eight. A trap-wizard could work quite well from a strategic point of view; cast 5-6 runes down a hallway, and then nail your enemy with a powerful spell. Keep focusing on him as your other enemies get close, and watch as they get blown away by the runes at the same time you kill the strongest enemy with your long range stagger attacks. Sounds like fun to me!

Dual casting also drains your magicka faster, because it costs 40% more, but does only 25% more damage.

Costs 40% more. Deals 25% more damage. Prevents target retaliating or even moving.

Seems worth it to me.

Dualcasting stuns the target for ~2sec. That alone makes dualcasting essential, if not overpowered.

Holy dog doo doo.

Just because it's effective doesn't mean it's overpowered.

Playing a pure mage on Master difficulty and ripping through the content with destruction/conjuration as my only damage sources.

What exactly needs fixing about it? Except maybe nerfing Impact. Wow, that perk is retardedly strong...
The common belief is that conjuration is borderline op so if you are running with both destro and conjuration, you should feel strong :)

Maybe at later levels when your regen is good ... I am lvl 10 right now and for me regen is more important than stunlocking mob in one spot.

Firebolt x2 with Impact perk. It's gold.

For general spells, I like Healing x2 and Magelight. Candlelight is nowhere near as useful as Magelight because a. it follows you around for a whole minute, so hiding is impossible, and b. you can't use it to light specific danger areas.

Build a decent magicka pool via enchants and leveling. Buy/make as many of the best magicka potions that are available to you. Get dual destruction and impact. Giggle maniacally as you stunlock a dragon to death.

Yeah, sure, it's not a viable play style for everyday adventuring, but it's good for a giggle and makes you feel good about yourself. "Anyone else wanna make cute comments about delicate mages, hmm?!"
