So when i got home, I unplugged my PS3 from the net, loaded up Skyrim one last time, and made a couple more back-up save games, just in case, then went around the specific dungeon I was in, nice and close to all the textures, to my companion / follower, etc. I took a nice mental note. And saved the game one last time with a nice close-up of my characters face.
Plugged back in my net cable, restarted the PS3 and game and let it update to the new patch.
And guess what? The graphics / textures are identical....
So yeah, don't read into the comments too much till you've tried it yourself. go into the game one last time before you update and take a mental note yourself.
My guess as to why some people think the textures look worse... is because the game still has similar low-res texture issues as the Xbox 360 version has. These existed before this latest patch (for me at least), certain pieces of armour would remain in the low-res format, and look blurry and ugly in my menu, or on certain other characters in the game. It was a bug that was already in the game. People complaining that the text is now blurrier or harder to read, are either making it up or having a severly biased reaction to the patch.
As for the "Lag" / frame-rate issue, I haven't noticed any choppiness yet, but I also haven't played more than 30 minutes. We Shall see.
