What classes?

I hope they have Battlemage. It seems like that class would definitely be in.

Custom classes would be so perfect. But Its just a dream, I think impossible to implement in a MMO.
The Morrowind classes should be perfectly fine though.

No, DAoC never had anything like that. As far as I'm aware, that's completely new to ESO. I don't think it's ever been done before, though someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

GW2 are doing it, cross profession combos. Another thing they're copying! And the whole thing about "they started development at the same time" is bull, ArenaNet have been very open with their development process whereas we've only just been told they're making TESO :P Tyria with Daedra woop <3

What do you mean cross profession combos? We're talking about a rogue dropping oil, and a mage being able to light it on fire, are you talking about the same thing? I'd also like to point out that GW2 is copying just about everything from DAoC PvP-wise, and it was Matt Firor and a lot of them that came up with that stuff, so it's fair to say GW2 is copying A LOT more from DAoC than ESO is copying from GW2.. :P

Yeah that's what they're doing, the classic GW2 example is shooting arrows through a fire wall to make burning arrows :P but there's loadsss like a Mage freezing a patch of ice and then a warrior stomping to give people ice armour etc etc

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cross-profession_combo

TESO stamina = GW2 Endurance, dodging, getting rid/softening the trinity, changing quests to make them more hubless and less "talk to me, then go do this" etc etc the list goes on an on. GW2 do have WvWvW PvP yeah :P that's about it for DAoC that I know of :P

Its been in 5 years of dev, I highly doubt they implemented all of those features every time Arenanet disclosed the info. They started dev at the same time, there can't be claim of copying just because 1 company decided to release information first.

The very thought of having classes in ESO repulses me.

From the freedom of having no conventional classes in Skyrim and play what you
want to DEVOLVING to having to choose a class feels like a slap in the face.

That said, i'll probably choose a pure mage. Feh~

+1. Personally, I find it more likely that NCsoft spied out the information from Zenimax, then implemented, and announced it, so it looked like they had it first. Companies like Zenimax and the producers they have don't need to copy anyhing, and besides, if NCsoft thought of such great features ahead of time, why would they release them so early for other game developers to copy? Doesn't make sense, does it.

In the game industry, it doesn't matter who copied who. The only thing that matters first is who implements it first.
NCSoft was quick on its feet and implements it first. Even if Zenimax thought of it first, it was just too slow.

Looks like Zenimax better do a thorough check of its security loopholes if its data are so easily stolen if that was really the case.
Some security manager's head is gonna roll.

I've only played Skyrim, but I infer from other posts I've read that either/ or both Morrowind and Oblivion had a hand-to-hand monk 'class'. I'd love to get a little martial arts on, especially if it was in any way similar to Advanced D&D 1st monks.

I agree about the classless > classes. But I get the impression that all of the complaints and pessimism we saw in the forum prior to the release of Skyrim may have effected the game design. People here were up in arms about the removal of classes.

Not likely. Cause if it was true, ESO was developed in 2007, which was way before Skyrim was a twinkle in anyone's mind.
What we are having is an MMO with 2007 concepts with 2012 ideas forcibly squeezed in.

Omg, you're right, they should really start it and release in the same exact year so that stuff doesn't happen.

Not in the same, I don't think, it's exclusively for dodging :) I was never saying " ergh they just copied GW2" and if ANet copied Zen and GW2 is just like TESO, that's friggin awesome either way js :P

I like the idea of different builds in the Skyrim guide. Maybe they could set up the classes close to those ideas?
