What do you like most about Dishonored?

That's great and all but wouldn't that just prove the propagandas? Not that it matters really, the game isn't focused about gaining the people's trust. But if it was I would wait for that moment where some of the actors would say:"If only I could have a face off, if this masked man even has a FACE!". And then when the lights change you just pop up on stage and you're like: "Wish granted!".

Like the game isn't about opening doors either... But I'm glad we have you to dictate to us just what this game is and isn't about. I was just thinking out loud but I should have known you would be here to police my creativity.

I didn't police your 'creativity' I even encouraged it if you didn't notice. And I meant that you can't win the people's trust via gameplay. Is it really so hard to understand my posts? Maybe if you kept an open mind and quit with the criticism and paranoia you might see actual truth.

It's easy to understand your posts. Oftentimes they're about policing the opinions and views of others.

I happen to share many of your opinions, but a word of advice: you come across as abrasive. Especially when you go defensive and say "Maybe if you kept an open mind and quit with the criticism and paranoia you might see actual truth."

Friendly tip.

Regarding the Opera: it might be cool to see an operatic performance based around a masked vigilante assassinating the murderers of his lover, but I would prefer a classic written at some distant time in the setting's shadowed history to a recent production payed for by the state.

I understand what you are saying just fine. It's how you say it that I have a problem with. I'm leaving it there.

I don't need internet to enjoy the game. Strong AI, high replay value.

I didn't speak it with a condescending tone or anything.

I know it's easy because I aim them to be as clear as possible. Sometimes I manage it, sometimes I do not. I believe that happens to the best of us anyways. And it's really interesting how a lot of people think these are my opinions or anyone's for that matter. Most of the time I don't talk using opinions. Maybe it's the tone part, but I still don't see it as an excuse to be attacked. And that's the reason why I replied with the quote you used there because I feel attacked where I am TRYING hard to say something so someone doesn't get offended. But truth is the world doesn't evolve around those people and nor does it around me. We can only strive to be at the center of it all so we can maintain an objective opinion (if we try to express opinions).

And yes, thank you for the advice. You are one of the few people I respect here and I am glad that you speak your mind.

Anyways, on topic: I like the mask...like a lot. That counts into my point about the stylization of the game itself. I love the world, the art style could use a bit of polish in my opinion but still looks good. The weapons, the technology and the game's optimistic goals. That is what makes a studio shine in my eyes. Even if I don't enjoy the game all that much I am still going to love the style it tries to take for itself.

The mask will always have a special place in my heart. It's well constructed, yet doesn't seem to use expensive material. It has it's functions but overall it's design is what strikes me the most. It might be kept together very well but it looks like it's falling apart. A metaphor perhaps? *HINT* *HINT* All and all the amount of work and dedication the development are putting into Dishonored is amazing (as it should be) and I enjoy their views on what makes a great game. Keep it up guys!

I like Dishonored because of what it represents; a shining light of originality in a sea of super serious "alpha tango" shooters and third person chest-high-wall simulators. It's a new IP, set in an original and imaginative world. It displays complexity and intelligence in a time when most games seem to be losing features as they are "streamlined" for an audience that apparently can't think for themselves. While many of our beloved stealth franchises are mistreated (see Splinter Cell Blacklist and that atrocious mark and execute mechanic), Dishonored looks to preserve every element that we cherish in stealth games and even give us new ones.

Most of this^^^^

Not a problem, sir! They also had some physical Dishonored equipment at E3, namely Corvo's sword, mask, and pistol. Don't have a link to it, though.

I posted them in another thread. I can't remember which though.

P.S. My quest to steal the mask will have to be put off for the next event. Although stealing would imply reclaiming ownership, I am simply taking the mask from one place to another (mainly my apartment).

EDIT: There is my post buddy. Hope everyone enjoys these as much as I do!

I think many people might want this: https://p.twimg.com/Auo8jdrCAAEpDbG.jpg:large

or perhaps this is more to your liking: https://p.twimg.com/Auo34IjCMAAxq9S.jpg:large

I am more of a pistol man myself: https://p.twimg.com/Auo3rQVCAAIyyqm.jpg:large

Now that I looked at them in detail I can safely say that I love the design. Please Bethesda, for the love of all that is gaming, make an art book!
